Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Does this make any sense? Overflow goes into the sump and then under the filter sock?!?
It doesn't go under, it goes in and over. That back area is sealed off and more or less acts as a bubble tower (stops a bunch of micro bubbles from entering the sump). Water enters through the pipes, rises up and over and into the filter socks.

@tbrown so I tested my nitrate for this week and it was 5.4! Usually it is always at 10 but I am guessing that the GHA is consuming a lot of it. I forgot to test phosphate but I bet that is low too.
I removed a bunch of the GHA today but still there was a a lot left.
I just don’t understand why it is still here and growing so much. My nutrients are not super high.
Is there anything I could dose that is safe and would kill the hair algae?

Also alk was 8.4. My trident was testing it a bit high.
Sounds about right where you want everything then. Bring the nitrates up some and if your phosphates are low, bring them up some as well.

Little tang looks good!
Remind me of the water you are using.

Really just wanted to thank my wife for always always giving me the space to work on my tank when we all know I should be doing something else. ;)

it seems it doesn’t reach the sock until after the skimmer, and refugium section. Is that normal?

Mine goes down, closed area then up and over into sock then skimmer then fuge then return in that order.

I had to make some more mods today.
Finally happy with it I think.
Fixed overflow lines, cut back to one reactor. Finally not short cycling anything.
I'm such a dork.

Omg!!! Joel!!! You renamed the thread- love it!!

And yes, I love exclamation points! I overuse them - I write how I actually speak. I’m not a monotone type of gal!
I thought this was a new thread.

Great pics thanks!
Where are they suggesting the sock go?
I see a little spill way in one compartment and you have the hose connected where it's supposed to go to so......
Maybe @tbrown will give us a hand here. :thinking-face: :thinking-face:
