Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Sorry guys and gals! You know how I am when it comes to pictures of my food... I had two sweet pork barbacoa tacos with black beans and cilantro lime rice chased with the mint limeade for lunch. One of these days I'm going to remember and take a picture.
I can take a picture of my lunch but it would be an empty bowl with a spoon and a little bit of pasta sauce at this point...

No photo and my mouth is watering

For those older reefers, an iPad is like a fancy TI 82 calculator with pictures
Not really helpful. I was in IT 20 years before the TI 82 came out.

We don't file it as a business we just file it as him being self employed. I try to get him to send in some each quarter but we just never get around to it so come tax time it bites us in the butt...
I was self employed for 23 years before I got sick. I used to HATE sitting down every quarter and write a check to the federal government and state government. That being said I thought everyone should have to do it because we would all demand better fiscal responsibility from our government. The smartest thing they did was instead have it taken out of our pay before we got our paycheck as if it wasn’t ever our money and for those who get refunds, make it feel like a gift from the government when it’s actually your money that they shouldn’t have held on to in the first place. I’ve always been for a flat sales tax. Every one would pay. The more money you have and the more you spend the more you pay in taxes. The less you make and the less you spend the less pay. Sorry drug dealers you’ll pay with your drug money as well. I feel better!

So is the general consensus that my rock won't leach enough phosphates to get above .90 again in a week or 2 and that it was probably the cumulation of 9 months of leaching? And eventually I'll have enough corals to uptake the phosphate?
Maybe? My rock is likely finally saturated so I stopped dosing phosphates a week or two ago. I wanna see how much my phosphates start dropping daily or if they stay out or keep going up.

If your rocks and sand are saturated, they continue to leach until your water and rock/sand equalize.

How long did you dose for to saturate?

Add a touch of vanilla and some steamed milk and you would have one of my favorites called a London Fog!
I don't have a steamer thingy. Luis has the fancy coffee setup :grinning-face-with-sweat:

Just kidding! About 2 years.
Im sure I'm getting close to my question quota these last few days :grinning-face-with-sweat: :face-with-tears-of-joy: im wondering if my gfo was even doing much as I ran it for a couple days, then shut it off for a couple days, then ran it 2 more days and brought like 120-150gal of water down to .04 I almost wonder if the gfo was used up and it was slowly creeping up from 0?

Pretty sure Tim said 999 in 2 days is the max?
Getting close.... :thinking-face: ;)

I thought it was 999 each day! Mama Mia! I gotta start being a little more frugal with my questions!

I'll just word them in matter of fact statements so Tim can agree or disagree with me instead of wording it like a question. "My phosphates are probably just slowly creeping up because my gfo is used up, I'm sure Tim would agree"

Maybe??
Depends on which brand gfo.
If you leave gfo not running it turns into a brick and is useless.
Gotta tumble gently.
At as high as your phosphate was in that volume of water you'd have to use a butt ton of gfo to get it to 0.
