Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Kessil A160s 2x. One green toadstool and one green mushroom.
Got it. Maybe you could rehome the corals temporarily, so you can completely shut off your lights? Your nutrients will continue to climb, but the algae would start to die off.

Any herbivorous fish, like tangs or rabbit fish?

Yea ik what what you mean. That short stuff is very annoying but hermit crabs did a really good job on that for me. I bought 50 of them and they did a great job. Also turbo snails did good. Are you doing water changes and testing the tank?
Ah funny hermit crabs. All were eaten by my wrasse in two nights. I do water changes however parents don't like the hobby so I don't have ability to get water. I have salt but I'm never home so i can't make enough ro for too off and mix i can attempt though. Turbo snails are out of season. I'll probably get some chestnut turboa from my LFS, good small cleaners. But I need Mexican turbo snail. My singular one caused a bald spot and other things gha wise. I've got tons of dwarf ceriths a few Florida ceriths, strawberry conch, astreas, top crown snails, and a tux urchin. Looking to add Mexican turbos, another tux and a sea hare.

I went through a really bad GHA problem as well. I used to come home from school and pick as much hair algae out of the tank as I could for about 30 min. I did that every night but it would keep growing back. I did lots of water changes to keep nitrate and phosphate down. That didn’t help much though. I think the GHA is just because the tank is new. Even if it’s 6 months old it might get the algae. You will probably have to wait it out and let the algae die off on its own. I change local fish stores because I thought the water I was using was bad, maybe give that a try. Don’t worry wait a few months and it will go away.
Exactly why I wanted you to help him, well done Parker! Oh, by the way your tank is awesome!

Yes we have been practicing a lot in the off season. We have had tournaments the past 3 weekends. Our first home game for the season is on Tuesday!
Keep us updated on how they go!

Re home corals for now might be a good idea like they said and shut off light. You really need to do water changes to help out with the GHA. Where do you get water? What is your RODI water situation

Thank you. I saw a photo of your tank on instagram. Looking good like usual!

Mexican turbos are great. But I would look into get hermits again. They help me out a lot for the little GHA on the rocks. Not sure why the fish at them tho

Wrasse is a biggie. He loves live things

Rodi is a base ro buddie. I want to do a blackout just never got to it.

I’ve never fed our pets raw. Except the kids in the pool. Even the kitties never had raw.
It's not cheap but we're basically raising tame wolves so we look at the diet of wolves and somewhat mimic it.

How or where are you getting your water for your tank?
