Have you tested the GFCI adapter?

What is the rating on your GFCI and your power hub?

It seems that the power hub is probably rated at 15 amps and the GFCI probably is as well. You have a 20 amp breaker so the only way that I can see that it would blow first, on an isolated circuit, would be a substantial overload that should take out the power hub or GFCI long before the breaker. My guess is a problem with the GFCI itself tripping the breaker.

The gfci would have to half failed to the point where it's actively shorting out to trip the breaker though. Theoretically i suppose it could. But if the circuits only drawing 1100w like Paul stated previously the power hub should be fine to handle it

So either your breaker is bad and is nuisance tripping, something is arcing and it's sensing that and tripping, or somethings kicking on and sending it over the rated ampacity of the breaker. If your confident your full load is in the 1100w range we can rule that out and narrow it down to either somethings arcing or the breakers defective.

yeah, that's all thats in this circuit. it's the dining room, outside outlet, and foyer. (I have one of those outlet/circuit detectors) house heat is at 68 stable. tanks at 75. so 700w heater elements really aren't being overworked. I haven't pulled the hub and all the wires to check the rats nest yet. (making sure they are all tightly connected).

My thinking was that the self test function of many newer GFCIs is automatic and could be arcing. Guess not. To me that suggests an arc rather than an overload or ground fault. Or again, a failing breaker.

Hopefully, the switches in the power hub would only arc when you are manually turning on or off a circuit, hopefully neither but switches are a likely suspect for arcs.

The heater controllers would be the most likely gear on the tank to arc.

I agree. I think moving the controller to a different circuit is a solid first step. And see which circuit then trips

I've been using DJ America 8 outlet strips of an almost identical design (PC100a) for decades on my tanks and other places that need a bunch of outlets, like when my wife sets up a Christmas village or for my model railroading, etc. I think I have a half dozen of them around the house. Two extra outlets sure would be nice,,,

Mainly On30 for the last decade but tore down the layout about three years ago and haven't rebuilt it...yet.

Bought some N last Christmas to do a small switching shelf while I was recovering from some issue that is now a partial 3'x6' 'layout' on the dining room table. At this point it's just foam and Kato track with a few partially assembled buildings in test locations.

Love the LGB stuff.

so who's knowledgable with electrics? I have everything except my main pump plugged into this power hub. The power hub is plugged into a GFCI into the outlet and attached to the red circled breaker. the breaker trips everyone in a while. nothing else is on this circuit. is this because it's a ARC and the other is GFCI? (At Least I think that might be Arc) I think one of these is the current issue. I only have about 1100 watts on this circuit when it's all on. That GFCI has never tripped. twice the power hub has tripped and the rest it;s the main breaker. This is my second power hub because the first suddenly no longer worked. so I suspect that's the real issue right now.

Should I just get a regular power strip and plug it into the GFCI instead of the power hub?
I don't have the capability of hooking up a new line.

The mighty jet is plugged into a UPS and is not on the GFCI.

Been running like this for over a year. Then past week has tripped 4 times. So you’re thinking new breaker?

Paul I'm going to suggest testing the breaker with everything running and see how many amps you are drawing.
I had this happen to me and was going to tell you the whole story but I'll just be to the point.
I don't explain things very well.
I'm also not an electrician.
My neighbor is however.
He does replace breakers but not very often.
With the history of this as you mentioned I'd almost bet something has gone bad and is drawing way more power just at times than it should.
When I was having this same problem we tested the breaker while shutting things off and on.
It turned out my old eheim return was the culprit.
You can use the watt to volt to amps calculator to see if you are close to 20 amps draw but I doubt it.
Power strips, GFCIS, breakers are all meant to trip if there's a load problem with something plugged into it.
You can take an extension cord and plug everything into a different circuit and see if it does it again but since it is random it will probably do it while you are asleep or something lol.
And it will probably happen again.
I'm a apprentice electrician, as most of us reefers are but having someone test this circuit would be my suggestion.
Then you can get to the bottom of things and see what needs to be replaced.

Very nice, love the depot. My wife has suggested something similar with LGB around the ceiling but I figure I've got enough things I'm working on already.
