Good afternoon everyone, had to rush my daughter’s dog for an emergency vet visit. At 5:00 am he began vomiting blood. I explained to the vet about my reef tank and the bjd thing and if I could pick up cipro if I needed it down the road. When I checked out a container with 20 500mg of cipro was waiting for me, I already had some but bought it anyway.

Just like a reefer to get straight to the hobby! How's the little pup?

This is a milder dosing regiment if you have concerns Luis. This is how I dosed my tank before and how im doing it now. Ill also say that I think Kevin's method is bullet proof as well.

so I just bought an elegance. should I place it on the sand or use a 2" PVC pipe to elevate it just above the sand? That's how I see all the pictures of them (PVC pipe).

Did you get any of the frag stands from printed reef? I think that would be perfect for it. That'll at least give you and idea of how it responds to being slightly raised or directly on the sand

I think the reason for the PVC is if the base isn't cut flat, they will keep tipping to one side.

I will cut a piece of pipe to have it ready when it shows up just in case. I'm wondering though since the sand flows a bit in the tank if it would be good to use so it is always the same height?

Yes, I got the Printed Reef sand stands. I think they are about 1.25" high but I'd have to crazy glue the elegance to it since it's meant for a plug?

Good, vet said it was probably something he swallowed sometime in the past 48 hours that caused gastritis bleeding. He got a shot of prednisone and something for nausea, probably Zofran. No food for 24 hours and Pepto bismal to coat his stomach.

Oh it isn't on a plug? If it was on a plug, the stem would fit down into the hole on top. They also have the scoly stands that are similar to those, but you glue the plug or skeleton to it.
