I want a clam too... but I think I would need to add a light to shine down at it. Like a kessil or something. I dont have 300+ par where I'd want it. I dont think im ready though as I didnt know clam hammocks were a thing hahaha

I still need higher par on it though lol. Apparently clams can take as much par as you can throw at them, as long as you work up to it!

Been busy, wife and I decided to make a still water goldfish pond in our front flower bed. We are redoing the border this year and moving it out 3 to 4 feet to incorporate the pond into the flower bed. Mostly caladium and elephant ears in this flower bed. We hit the river a week ago and picked up some floating plants (no lilly pads), been keeping these in 5 gal. buckets. wife ordered some lilly pads online. Its a 100 gallon stock tank from tractor supply. Large river rock from landscape store. only about 10 inches of the tank above ground. Added some feeder goldfish today, should speed the cycle along nicely. Its still in the rough stages, but i think it will look awesome once we finish with the flower bed border.

that's funny, my my calcium and dKH saliferts came in today also.

I love how they're mounted. How did you mount that lobo? Epoxy or no epoxy?

it's just set there. fit right in the groove. the leather was attached to a rock. so if it's happy where it is I don't need to do much and can secure it a bit more. both these are not directly under the light but they get a piece of it. so they are in light flow too. The clam has been moving from where I placed it already. so not cure where he wants to be yet. but obviously it's not directly under the light which is 29" below the light. But they don't show well under blue light. but it is reacting to shadows which is a good sign it's healthy. Says photosynthetic but I thought that wasn't till they are like 4"???

I don't think so. this appears to be encrusting around the rock.

Is that live rock? As in bought from somewhere like TBS or Gulf Live Rock? If so, it's a cup coral that come in as 'hitchhikers'.

Yes them and derasa like the sand but you may want to look at a clam cradle if you want it somewhere else.

I am trying SO hard as to not make any 'clam' jokes!
