Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I think these are the nassarius in that pot. the one on the top too.

They certainly could be. Nassarius tend to be less aggressive than other whelks and tend to stay buried in the sand until they sense food. You may want to sump the ones you think are Nassarius just in case.

@luis angel and everyone here is a video of the flow in my pico tank could you guys take a look and see if it is ok or if I might need to try to find a tiny wave maker?

It looks pretty good to me unless your planning a bunch of sticks. It might be a little weak down low hard to tell. Are the zoas waving at all?

During elimination I found these growing on a shelf I took out. No clue what they are or where they came from

After excess racks removed I reorganized and made a 10x2 row of torches

John has named it the Rainbow Torch Belt lol!

Stunning as always!

Shell Characteristics

  • Nassarius Snails: Generally have elongated, slender shells with a more delicate appearance. Their shells are often less colorful.
  • Whelks: Possess thicker, more robust shells that are often spiral-shaped and can be more ornate, with ridges or knobs.
I also came across this page. the snouts of whelks tend to be tattooed like a giraffe. yours looks like that.

Thanks!

nassarius are a type of whelk. The type you don’t want are the predatory ones. Their siphon is mottled and unlike the nassarius they don’t spend time under the sand. I’m thinking predatory whelk.
Thanks!

How big does a piece of Aus Sinularia need to be to have a chance to make another coral? I have a piece that's at most .5 inch that got broken off of my bigger piece. I glued it to a rock and put it in the pico but I'm not sure if it's big enough to maybe make it. Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

Typically I put mine in a small plastic container with rock rubble and set it in low flow until it attaches to a piece of rock and then mount it, I have never glued it. That small one in my tank from minimal amount of tissue that was left.

I don't know why, but I see a lot but in only one direction, what do you guys think if she buy a nozzle that gives random flow
