Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I’m home kids! Discovered my CBB dead 😢 . I thought getting it pre-quarantined and feeding it what it had been eating for 6 weeks would give me a great chance of success but I hadn’t seen it eat in 10 days. Not sure if I’ll pull the trigger again. She looked so beautiful in my tank.
I feel so badly for you and her.

They can be kept successfully though. I can say I took a chance with mine. No quarantine. Right into my 40 gallon display. Only a tiny goby in it. Fully stocked with LPS, several SPS and a crocea clam.

It took him a long time to eat out of the water column. Preferred mussels to clams. I think I bought at least 10 types of frozen food. If it had a copperband photo on the packaging I bought it. He has a few favorites now. Was the first fish to go into my 100 gallon. Along with a very young purple masked angel. I had kept him in the 40 probably 2 years.

Again sorry this happened.

There are some wonderful people on this forum, and in this world!

My wife and I just received a box from Shelley @code4, absolutely overflowing with freshly dug irises of every color you could imagine!

Each one was thoughtfully labeled by color and variety. When she said she was sending them, I offered to pay her for them and all she asked was that we pay it forward. That's probably a good thing because my wife said, "do you know how much that would've cost me if I'd bought them retail?"

Thank you so much! I will make sure to pay it forward.

Not every color. I still have ones in white, yellow and orange. 😂

I had a lot of fun doing this for you two. I dug over a hundred and found homes for all of them.

I hope they do as well for you as they have for me.

I wish these were as easily shared.

now you need to post pics of them flowering next year.
Can't wait till next year. Some are to young to bloom the first year. But it is early enough for most to establish and bloom.
Mine acclimated very well, but I think the main reason was that it had a prey food in abundance when I first got it in tons of small feather duster worms which it decimated. Gave it the 10 or so days it needed to start eating frozen. I’m in a similar train of thought-without live food to tide it over I doubt I’d try one again even with the right size tank .
I forgot to mention that. Mine ate pods and bristle worms even. Still follows me around while cleaning glass near the sand. He grabs anything I stir up. Had him 4 years now.
I promised to keep Shelley updated on their progress, so I definitely will!
I have his address now if he doesn't. 😂
Just went through the exact same thing a week ago with a CBB. 2nd one. Beautiful fish.
Sad to hear this.
I've got a lot of digging to do! Can't wait though
Better get to it. They love sun. And should grow their leaves back as early in the year as it is. I cut them so they will get their roots growing.
