Mr V. I’m starting a new tank soon and want to mimic your aquascape. It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. What kind of rock did you get and do you have any tricks and pointers?

Honestly, despite the hype and advertising, I feel like nothing special about these corals.

Rr Dream Catcher. This one look like wwc budgie smuggler. Bright pink tips and polyps. Super super cool acro!

BkChem Wetdream. Another unique acro. It’s not really look like in the pic. For some reason I have hard time capture the real color of blue corals.
This one has blue coralline with yellow polyps.

BkChem Nightmare. I don’t know how this gonna develops but suppose to be a good one.[emoji6]

The pink/red develop more and more as it grow. Meanwhile the base is still green/yellow. It’s super cool to see completely two different colors on the same acro.

I used Pukani dry rock. They are very soft, light weight and easy to shape the way you want them. My trick is choosing a big, study rock for the base and then build the scape from it. I glue, zip ties , cementing, superglue,.... one small piece after another. I had to take the whole rock scape in and out hundreds of times.

The RR dream catcher. Do you have a pic of what the mother colony should look like? I tried searching for it but came up with nothing.

Me neither, first time hear the name. But I know for sure it’s good acro since I picked it up in person. From private collector, not Reef Raft themselves. End of the day, I collect acro based on coloration and grow pattern so it doesn’t matter much to me.

The mother colony looks like this: wwc budgie smuggler (but again, names are just names)

So I notice that the return rate of this tank is way too low. It’s slower than the rate of a mj1200 pump water from water chance container into my sump.
I think it’s the reason why this system always has small particles flying around and the water never be crystal clear.
So do you think it because there’s too many elbows in the plumbing?
Look like I will need to redo the plumbing and eliminate all of those elbows. Just a straight pipe from pump to the tank.[emoji848]

Now, some actinic shots. Some people says that blue light shot are not real, not normal.
In my systems, I have blue light for 7 hours whenever daylight only 6 hours, so I think it’s safe to say my corals normally look like that!
In my pictures I always try to mimic what I see in real life.

After recalibrate the vectra, water quality definitely improved. More return rate equal more clarify water, less particles flying around. [emoji106]
But the vectra makes so much humming noise.
Meanwhile, I stopped by Raymond ‘s house (Two guys coral owner). No need to say more, his tank is sick! [emoji15]
Friendly advise: leave your wallet home!

Pick some new acros also.

Tgc Inferno. One of the most stand out in his tank for sure, the TGC version has bright orange body with yellow tips.
