Note to myself: Check the powerhead before turn them back on.
I turned the mp40s off for pictures, I didn’t know that the wrasse was hiding in the pump when I turned them back on. Almost cut the fish into half.
More horrible is that he didn’t die for like 30 mins. I felt horrible.[emoji20][emoji20][emoji20]

Please, check your power head before turn them back on!

Bummer man :(

Also be sure to check for snails. They’re super good at destroying impellers!

Can I see pictures of your check valve? I think my pump doesn’t move much water throw it. The valve on lift up a little bit, is it normal or my flow is too slow?

Even though I replace most of the pipes, 90, valve with one straight silicon pipe, the flow still not improve much.

I have a check valve from lowes and it's not see-through. It's a spring loaded one. It really reduces flow a lot. I don't feel like re-doing my plumbing to get rid of it though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...
But, if you need more flow and you want to keep that check valve, you'll probably need a bigger pump?

The only parameters I am testing now is Alk. And I adjust Calcium dosing rate to be the same with Alk dosing rate. They are both as 55 ml (ESV) per day.
Here is what I arm for:
Alk : 8~9dkh
Cal: above 400ppm

It is really hard to decide actually. They all beautiful ! [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]
The plan is glue the whole plugs to the rock scape and let them grow for a while.

I have them switch between Reef Crest, Short Pulse, Lagoon during the day. Antisync.
What power level? Can you take a screenshot of your programming?

Thanks!

What I am wonder is it’s normal for this kind of check valve to open just a little bit like that or because the flow is too weak.
That’s why I wanted to see how’re everyone checkvale look![emoji848]

The vectra run 100% all the time. Using 80w on Ecosmartlive.

My check valve is wide open. You might try soaking in Vinegar mix or just throwing on a new one and see if that works.

I was asking about the vortechs not the vectra.. You said that you cycle through reef crest/tidal swell etc but at what % power?

The skimmer still acting crazy despite the water lever has lowered to the minimum possible.
But I notice today, on the side of the skimmer has a cap that cover a hole on the skimmer body (why did they drill hole on the skimmer body?!), I unplugged the cap and let more water out, it starts to come down.
Is it the way this skimmer work, you have to unplug the cap on the side?

The refugium is up and running. As you can see, there will be no light leak into the sump ---> no nuisance algae, coralline algae grow in the sump.

Two drain. The main drain (3/4") drain from the bottom of the refug, the emergency (1/2") on the side in case chaeto clogged the main drain.
It feed by the main tank drain water 1" with a valve to limited the flow.

Also add some fishes yesterday.[emoji4]

Biggest problem solved! Here is the reason why my return rate is too slow.
ce8c662ad203bddf7649ea72bf74e177.jpg

After remove those, the pump went nut! I have to slow it down to 20% otherwise it’s Overflow my tank!

Now I have it at 80% and I have great turn over rate. The water is crisp clean!

Here you go brother. I don’t know what’s the difference between sync and antisync.

I have AB+ schedule from Ecotech.

Viet, what salt are you using? That check valve should swing open more. Somethings wrong with your V1

I use ESV salt.

Refugium helps with lower the nutrients. Also a place to culture pods.

Meanwhile, Got my house reinforced again today.[emoji4]

Thanks for the info. but in your opinion what is the key to obtaining these fantastic colors? I see many who use the sps ab program but very few have your results .. what can you recommend to me?
