Ok here is some big upgrade i did to reef last week. Because the tank was getting heavily stock from sps my alk consumption was gone up to 2.5dkh per day. So it was time to move from diy 2 part(which i was dosing) to calcium reactor.
After a long research i went with reef octopus cr140 calcium reactor

I also bought the Kamoer peristaltic feed pump for stable effluent rate

I have connected the cr and up since last sunday

I have connected it and am controlling it via apex

I have been fine tuning it since last week, testing alkalinity of tank every day. now since last 2/3 days its constant at 6.3dkh.
But i like to keep my alk around 7.5dkh so any calcium reactor experts can help me how to Increase the alk from calcium reactor? I just have to increase my effluent rate right?

What’s your ph at? You can decrease your internal ph a little bit. I’d get the alk back up to where u want it with two part, and then set the internal pH between 6.8-7.0, start with an effluent rate of 50-60 ml/min and maybe 30-35 bubbles/min and see if you can maintain your 7.5. You want to drop the ph internally by 0.1 (no lower than 6.5) if your tested alk is dropping, sometimes what’s confusing is the effluent: generally decreasing your effluent increases your dwell time, but you need to increase the flow to keep up the demand, but you have to inject more CO2 too. The tweaking of the carx is a pain to me

Yeah, get the alk back with dosing and then try increasing your flow (maybe 45 ml/min) and test again

Yes that makes sense. Thank you. I’ll dose and get my alk to 7.5. So then the car will keep it constant.
Thank you :D

Dude, I’d leave it be. My salifert is reading 0.25-0.50 ppm and everything in my tank looks fine, but I ran about 1/4-1/3 the recommended amount of gfo to see if I notice a difference. It’s now down to clear, discernible 0.25 as of this AM. If I were you, I’d leave it be if all looks good.
