hey mark, you can put them corals in my tank (ha ha)

Yo, what's up man? I figured no one was looking at my thread anymore. Thought it was really that bad. Haha. I've always got frags for you man. Just trying to get an ounce of a tank like your setup.:)

I am pretty new and have only 1 question. Your carpentry skills are awsome, and you have a rimless tank which i assume you paid extra for , why would you put a canopy on it and place that high above the tank ? Other than gas and heat exchange what did i miss?

Thank you. I used it to incase my lights. And I liked the look. That's really the only reason. The front actually opens up with part of the top for access.

Your system is incredible! What type of corals do you want to stand out, I can give you some tips.

Also what chalices are those^?

Yellow rocketeer macydium. Bubble gum and a Miami hurricane.

Thanks man. Mainly my sps. Since its dominant in my tank. Although, chalices have got me addicted here lately. Lol

Well deserved. Nice, I have never heard of this rocketeer mycedium. I will have to look it up. What species of SPS? The growth of the different species greatly determine their place since , for example, some may be huge branches, others plates, others bushes, etc.

I've got probably 30-50 different ones. I've got them all set up according to flow and light.

Ok, I like to put bushy and whirling SPS on the ends of branch or pointy rock, if you have any in your tank. This will give your scape more depth as you look at the tip of the rock you see a bushy or spiral shaped coral and then your eye follows the branch to your main rock where you will see the other corals. The mid-branch and flat areas, not necessarily parallel to your lights but the rock being flat, are where I like to put encrusting SPS that will form thick branches in the future. This is because their base will expand out very nicely and you can see the P.E. over your flat or branch rock work that has branches coming off of it. I hope that helps some.

Nice setup but I'm more interested in your biocube. Is that blue this in the front a tunicate? Do you have a thread on the biocube?

Thanks KLR. You needs to stop in and take a look. I'll see if I can get a pic of everything closer, so we can talk about it. I think I know what you're talking about.

FateX8: I did have a 29bio cube for the wife. But not anymore. I didn't see what pic you're reffering to.
