Just installed protein skimmer but it’s not making bubbles? Am I missing something? I’ve messed with air flow, height of skimmer, and it just pumps water. Air line seems fine

For those of you that get this kind of skimmer (coralife mini protein skimmer) for biocubes. I solved the issue with some troubleshooting. Take apart pump and blow into tubing or tube inlet making sure to block one hole and leave the other open while blowing in 3rd hole… this sounds weird :/

Anyway if no air is go through the open hole there is probably a piece of plastic you have to puncture. So I just used a sharp needle like tool to poke the plastic blocking airflow on the inside of the pump housing. Must have been a manufacturing mistake where extra plastic remained.
