But on this 75th Birthday of World War II, and in the spirit of getting to know each other a little better, I'd like to recognize each of our veterans here on R2R individually.

So if you've served in America's armed forces, and you are comfortable doing so, please post up your division of services (and dates if you desire).

Also if you have children, grandchildren, or other family members who serve or have served please feel free to post as well.

And again, a big heartfelt thanks to all who have served!

I know a few here who are veterans but am interested in a complete list if possible.Father is WWII USNR Vet - Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts in the South Pacific - Congress allowed him to stay in reserves until age 65.Myself - USNR 1971 - 1979Active duty 1972 - 1974Six months CTO "A" school Pensacola, FloridaEighteen months attached to the staff of the Commander of the Sixth Fleet on board the USS Springfield (CLG 7) and USS Little Rock (CLG 4)Both ships were light guided missle cruisers and because they carried the admiral stayed in the mediterrranean sea all the time instead of coming over from the states for a six month cruise. The Springfield was replaced by the Little Rock when she was sent to the states for decomissioning.

I am from a military family that has served since the Revolutionary War. There are too many to name so I will start where I remember. Both of my Grandfathers served in WWII one in the Army Air Corps (USAF) and one regular Army. I myself served in the USNR as a Corpsman from 1990-1997 and then USN as an Aircraft Electricians Mate (AE2) from 2000-2006.

My name is Seth Drago, and I am an E4 in the Louisiana Army National Guard. I am a combat medic, and I am in the 756th Area Support Medical Company. I joined in March of 2006. I've been on deployments to Italy and Haiti. My unit deploys to Bagram, Afghanistan in August of 2012, but fortunate for me, I get out in March 2012. Thanks for your support.

I served in the Army from 2000-2007. I'd like to extend my appreciation to anyone who is currently serving, has served, or has withstood the service of a loved one. Happy Veteran's Day everyone!

Thanks for your service top! I give credit to anyone who can withstand 20 years in the military, especially on the enlisted side. Did you do your full 20 in aviation? I reclassed several times and wound up with 3 different MOS... Artillery, Chemical, and Military Police. Went to BNCOC to get 31B20 and then got out shortly thereafter despite the enticement of picking up my E6 if I re-upped.
