Hi #DIYwizards

*edit: Tank stand is wrapped. added pic.

Getting to the end of my stand build but slightly concerned with it being perfectly flat on top for the tank. With the level on top it looks ok but....
It's a 6'x2' 210 gallon tank.
2x6/2x8 stand wrapped in 3/4" plywood.

Can I put a mat or styrofoam between the framed tank and plywood??

Or is there something else I can do so there's the same pressure all the way around the tank bottom frame???

I had a yoga mat under my 45 gallon rimless tank a couple years ago. Just curious if I can do the same with this 210.

Thanks!!!

I have the same size tank and built a diy stand. I chose to get a granite top made and set the tank directly on the the granite. I went that route because I know the granite will be flat, it will never be damaged by salt water, and it looks nice. I got it at a discount for $100 because there is a blemish in the middle, but you'll never see it with the tank on it.

I was thinking about not having a top at all and just setting the tank on the stand with a piece of 1/2" foam between them. I gave up on that idea because I couldn't hide the foam and I didn't like the look.

I recommend the granite top. You'll spend at least that much on a couple of colored sticks to go in the tank down the road.
