I've had a 135 FOWLR setup for about 2 years, and now I'm upgrading to a 220
I'm just looking for some suggestions and advice on adding the right fish.

Current stock:
Hippo Tang
Golden Eye Kole Tang
One Spot Fox Face
A pair of mated Clownfish
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Leopard Wrasse
Bird Wrasse
Diamond Watchmon Goby
Blue Throat Triggerfish (Most recent addition)

Fish I'm looking to add over time:
Coral Beauty Angelfish
Flame Angelfish
Valentini Puffer
Heniochus Butterfly
Pearlscale Butterfly (or possibly a Pakistan or Racoon Butterfly)
Anthias (one or two)
Harlequin Tusk (possibly, it might be too timid)
Purple Tang (to replace the Hippo)
Emporer Angelfish

The Emporer would be the last addition

Any red flags?
I've tried to do my homework, but always looking to hear of any personal experiences
Any other suggestions of our favorite fish that I haven't thought of and that are your favorites?

Great list. I tried adding a coral beauty and a flame at the same time. The coral beauty was to aggressive to the flame. We ended up trading for a different shaped Dwarf angel a 1/2 black. They are doing fine.

I am a huge butterfly person. slowly stocking my 200/275 back up after a wired accident where i lost my fish.
anyway the pearl scale are nice fish I would do more BF...but thats just me.

I 2nd adding the dwarfs are the same time of you can. I had 4 in my tank they where cool.

I like the tusk too. some say there are aggressive others say timid? hard to say. but there cool for sure.

Blue Jaw Triggers are known to be one of the least aggressive triggers out there, and so far, he's very shy and not aggressive at all. He even gets chased around by the Hippo Tang, which is why I was thinking of rehoming the Hippo. My Tangs tend to be chasers.

I once had a small Harlequen Tusk and he was VERY timid. My Kole Tang decided to one day bother him so much that he completely stopped eating. Even after I guaranteed him again, he wouldn’t start eating again.

I’m learning that adding the right fish, in the right order is VERY important. When I switch the bigger tank, I’m thinking of keeping the Tangs out for a few weeks to let everyone else find their spaces.

I'm definitely going to add a couple butterflies. But so far in my limited experience, they can be VERY picky eaters and with that many other fish, I'm worried they'll stop eating.

What are your recommendations for hardy butterflies?
