That is a sweet sump! I tried reading the name on it but, due to reflection, all I could make out is "Platinum Series." Who is the manufacturer?

Thanks!

That one you picked up must have been custom as it has 3 outputs and built-in reactors.

I looked them up on BRS but didn't see them. Perhaps because shipping them here would make them not so competitively priced. They sure are nice though!
This is the closest i could see on the BRS website - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/plat...fGlSWN3fM1af_XYhaUz15qTzDUFPEe3plvyIkrVVoOfo0

The one I picked up was a custom order, so it has the slow fluid reactors built in also which are nice.

Your linked worked but it looks like BRS doesn't sell them. Something else that is odd is that if I search "Hmahli" or "Platinum" it does not find the sump.

Anyways, on to better things like the new buys leading me to think you have another system in the works. Am I close?

Not at this stage.
Creating a sump room in my garage for everything currently under my tank, and a water change station + plumbing etc.

This will eventually allow me to upsize my tank...but thats still down the track!

Lots of planning as I want to be able to basically shut one sump off and start the other one up with very little downtime.

Oh nice! Would love to set up a water change station. One that makes mixing, pumping etc. soooo much easier than my current way of doing it.
Look forward to seeing more on that as you progress!

Pulled out the top down viewer and took some video last night, here are some stills from this. Tank has been cranking lately, swapped over all my trace elements to East Coast Corals, and my coral foods and aminos to Aquaculture Kings about a month or so ago, seems to be making a difference!

Well been a while since my last update, but things have been going great.
Switched over to using East Coast Corals for all my suppliments, which are working well.
Also added in a Clam on the weekend which is a first for me! Had to move a lot of things around though to fit it in!
My Yellow Tang was starting to look pretty raggard, I have a feeling its just his age now (estimating him to be about 14 years old, as i have had him for almost 4 years, and the reefer i got him from had him for 10). My flame angel was seen beating him up, so i netted the Yellow and moved him into my Frag system which is a lot more peaceful, and he seems to be doing a lot better there. Will probably move him back once he recovers and just keep an eye on him.

Added in the second Maxima last night, this one has a Blue Mantle, really happy with how these look, and my Kids love them!
Will double check the PAR they are getting over the next few days just to make sure I dont need to raise them up, but reasonably confident they should be fine.

Also forgot to mention that I have started culturing my own phyto using the Aquaculture Kings reactor, it makes it so easy to do, highly recommended if you regularly buy phyto. The one they sell in the USA is even easier to use as it has the air pump built in.

Have been just doing Nanno to start as it is pretty easy, going to try Tetra next as I can get a starter from that locally. Eventually i would love to do Tiso (the Gold stuff), bit need to refine this first as from what i understand its a bit harder to do.

Finally - latest parameters as of last night, things sitting nicely balanced.

Those clams look great along with the other updates. I’ve been considering getting a clam or two but want my tank to mature a bit more.

I cultured my own phyto for a bit but didn’t see a big difference. Tank was pretty young too.

Parameters look great. I run my all a little lower ALK and my nutrients sit higher at around .20 and 20. Don’t if can slowly bring the last two down a bit.

Yes, my Alk generally sits around 7.5-8 but i had not tested it for a couple of weeks and it must have crept up!

The most notable thing i find with Phyto is it makes my Snails spawn...

Some very slow planning happening... for context, my current tank sits where the piano is.
If this progresses, it will be around 3000L (better have good seams!)
