HaHa...I only get time in winter to work on this projectEvery time i see this thread i think awesome!!!! then i open it and see no pool... just a empty tank...
Howdy,
So you should definitely not tie your main drain and your backup together at all.
Like you said, the primary drain will have a siphon. That would be broken if you had the other pipe tied to it.
The other reason is that the backup is your backup. If the primary drain gets clogged further down the line, below the tie in, then you don't have a backup.
When are you planning on getting water in this thing?
Thankyou sir... you guys are always in a rush))
Its about the journey))
Absolutely. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby as someone once said.
Dunno if getting water in the tank in under a year counts as fast though...
Oh ya and everything in Canada in this hobby is 3 times the coin((
It's almost depressing seeing what's available stateside to what we have here. Once we pay the exchange, duty and shipping, we are paying more than double for some items.Yep. I do get sad sometimes looking at BRS at what's available. Not to mention all the coral and livestock they can order up...
I do have a bit of an advantage over you guys because I am right across from Detroit. Mydetroitmailbox saves us a ton in shipping and duty. It's almost depressing seeing what's available stateside to what we have here. Just a thought... you might not want to run the roller mat. With a fuge that big there might not be enough food for the algae. Im no expert, but they work really well.(the roller filter) only very fine particles would come through.
I think its all preference. I dont run any filter floss on mine. I never saw a filter sock in the ocean. Maybe someone's sock that fell off but cant imagine it was filtering anything. Lol that's why "I" like skimmers.Thank you for your thoughts!
My plan so far is to direct all water from tank into fuge ...but that's where the dilemma begins...now what???
If go out of fuge to sump with roller mat and protein skimmer I lose all the goodies
I could direct water half and half to fuge and sump??
Then dump fuge water into pump compartment on sump??
What's the best way to handle this?
Have you done any research on the Triton method? I haven't tried it but I think it would be exactly what you are looking for.Thank you for your thoughts!
