Ive had two btas and one condy, Condy didn't make it so i know what it looks like for them to melt away. And i have seen the decrease of the health of one of the btas but it was a lot better quality water in my tank and just needed to adjust. Patience is a virtue in the business. This is what mine looks like now.

I agree touching is not always good but if she is dead she will pollute your tank very quickly. I have been housing nems for over 20 years and all I can give you is the advice I use. Nems are very sensitive and when you are acclimating them to your tank a very slow drip is always the best but is never is a
Guarantee . Sometimes they just don't do well when transported. When ever buying the first rule is to ask how long they have been in the tank ?, if they have been less than a month I would pass on it. I have a tank strictly for nems and have currently 10 - 20 rose tip nems as they keep multiplying and 1 extra large lime green carpet as well as 3 rock nems .. They all live with 60 clowns in an 80 gallon tank. Please keep in mind this tank is connected with my other 5 tanks so I have actually 1,200 gallons of water + in my system.

Your salinity is too high ... It's should not be any higher than 1.025 ... Fish can go as low as 1.020 but inverts and corals like 1.025

They charge to test your water?! Goodness. Personally I would find a different LFS just because of the bad advise they gave you before (not being a PBT, Toss it in a bag and throw it away...) I don't have much experience with nems but my bubble tip "spit it's guts out" shortly after I got it (had to treat the tank and it didn't like it) but it's still alive and getting it's colour back.

Don't give up!!

If she dies them yes. Big hurry to get her out. And that's awesome. I would love for you to read my report when i put it on here about nems health and care. I think some can be sensitive but depends on how they were kept. One of mine had survived a complete tank crash, out of water, housed in a ten gallon till got in bigger system now its huge

Think I know which store you went to based on the bag and your calling it #1 in Dallas ... If this anenome doesn't pull through check the local club forums for one. Dfwmas.org often has bta posted from members whose bta has split.

You mentioned you are far from that store, pm me where you are in the metroplex and I can tell you where I'd recommend you try in the future for livestock

FYI ... One of the only meds I have used on a nem to save it is API Melafix... I am not saying to use it because I am not 100 % your nem is even sick or dying but for the future you might want to have some on have .. )

Ok I'm going to give her a few more days and hope she comes back. Read some articles that showed pics of them sliming and insides turned out and in a few days they came back. Thanks for all your help and I will update on if she makes it ❤️❤️

This picture is from my nem hospital tank. Every nem you see was near dead about a month ago. I call it nem abuse, to large a clown with too small a anemone. The one on the top right didn't have a tenticle on it just weeks ago. When it as brought to me I thought for sure it was going to be deposited in my toilet. Mild flow, bright lighting ( this is under a 8 pack of t5s) once it opens back up. The fact it's slimming and closed is a good sign. It's alive and in a defensive protection mode. Be ready to feed with minced fresh food once it opens and watch it respond

I hope it ends up healing for you. It can be tough getting good advice at a LFS. It's much better to do research on every animal before purchasing, do not trust what a LFS employee says without doing your own research. If you plan to grow corals make sure to research if the new animal is reef safe, and be sure to research what they eat. There are a lot of imported animals that we cannot realistically feed in our aquariums so we just end up watching them wither and die.

I also wouldn't worry about your clowns hosting. They will be perfectly fine without an anemone to host, and even when they have one it doesn't mean they will use it! Sometimes they can be so rough you'll wish they didn't!

Couldn't have put it better myself. Amd awesome recovery. Ever try Kent's marine c? Is supposed to help heal flesh. That's what i added to the tank amd it seemed like it took to the healing process within a night
Agreed admit being ready to feed.
