Yesterday, made this pedestal out of marco rock and the mortar they sell. Letting it sun dry today. Gonna use it to be a home for a nice piece of purple with yellow(light green center) favia..This way when we upgrade to a 500 or so gallon tank it will be on its own island...

I am working on new photos...girl is so happy that the zoa's are growing almost double iin size but still small since the got fragged and scrapped from the lava rocks back in Aug 2023, when I realized the lava rocks were causing water problems. I found out Az lava rocks come from a whole different source then when I used them in NY...So had to create new rocks in Aug, used marco and caribsea...Tank now is responding to the change...along with switching to Brightwell salt...

Day 6 of dosing nopx, once this bottle is done going to make diy version of the formula I got from a fellow reefer. ...I am so disappointed in every reactor idea I saw, and used or built, like bio pellet, sulfar denitrate, phosguard, gfo to control these issues. Plus took up so much room in the sump and is a mess to clean and change out. Plus extra electricity use.
Been chatting with other with large and super large tanks and they do the chemical way...I am in no way going to use lanthanum chloride, seems to be to much of a risk and I saw too many people lose their tangs....
I did repurpose the bio pellet reactor into a rotational bio ball reactor like the one aquamax sells. Found the small plastic bio ball looking things similar to theirs for 12 buck,,, for a gallon...the spinning is supposed to help keep them clean and help with bacteria growth.
Just got my order of Tropic Marin A- and K+ supplements. Gonna give them a try.
Ordered a Hanna Nitrate checker cause I think the liquid test kit I have must be way off now it is probably 2 years old....

Good choice with steering clear of the overpriced carbon. I've always had good luck with just vodka.

I recently just started again to get my nitrates more in check.

I also juat started lanthanum again, and it's funny to see the relationship between knocking down both n03 and p04 at the same time.

I've been testing daily and notice that one day the p04 would drop and the n03 slightly drop, and the next day the opposite happens. N03 drops a lot and p04, just slightly.

Yes...I think this is the end all solution, I am done with the other stuff that wasted my time and money,. Have to go out and get distilled white vinegar (5%) for my diy mix (vinegar/vodka/rodi water). On my last does of nopox from the bottle....Oh I still in need of those 2 purple corals you have once the 300 is stable...
