Sounds like a headache. Could have had eggs on the gsp. I don't think dips effect eggs.

Yup gsp opened up after day or 2 then stayed open for full week and then spawned as seen them little red balls.
Then seen this in video which at first thought was some kind of worm/ slug eating the gsp or something on it but after zooming in on phone, looks like some kind off eggs ? What you think @Mibu
Some kind eggs ?

I got trouchus snails
Nassarious snails
And 1 new conch snail that was introduced sake time as gsp

So could be from the snails or could be from the sea slugs.whatever it is,it didn't move as was in container after removed from gsp

Rather than share all videos again to build thread ,just share thread I just started with several videos in first post.
Black bugs.
Sea slugs.
Polyclad flatworm maybe?
Aiptasia.
Spionid worms maybe?
Unknown worm in sump.
Eunice worm ?
Another grey/ black Possible eunice worm lol ?
Maybe some more idk as tank doing ok regarding fish but green slimer getting eaten,3 torches gone,at momemt got little tissue recession on green monti, and red monti on same plug so unsure if that's irritating it and causing the mucus or if it's just my wrasse dive bombing sand all time and sand getting blown on it and it removing it idk.

Wish I stuck to my guns and qt observational qt now,but as decided no qt on fish, decided no qt on anything .

Hello welcome to my build thread on a aqua one 300 reef ( believe is around 80 us gallons)
Had dt running about 5 weeks at moment and first week or so ghost feeding every other day then left for 1 .5 weeks then started adding doctor tims amnonia chloride and seachem stabilty for 7 days and and done nothing for about 2 weeks now ( amnonia staying put at 1ppm and 0.25 ppm on a api test kit)
Got qt cycled using doctor tims one and only and amnonian chloride and after 22 days i joined reef 2 reef and asked advice on " is my qt cycled ) after reading lots threads saying nitrite in a salt water tank shouldnt even be tested for as chloride in salt stops the fish intaking nitrite so not toxic, most agreed even though my api test kit read 2 or maybe 5ppm nitrite ( even after a 90% water change ,i know sounds strange but did test correctly and thats what it said and still says ) coming from just under 10 years in freshwater side of fish keeping adding fish to a tank which shows high pevel of nitrite isnt good idea, but i went along with it and bought 2 common clown fish ( i wanted 2 black ice clown fish but my 3 year old daughter pointed out to me " nemo is orange " and she wants nemo so she won ) plus alot cheaper and common clownfish still nice looking fish.after accliminising them i noticed straight away one had clamped fins and big lumps behind each eye ,so now im ummm i naively thought got qt tank but just be observong fish for one month and all be and possibly need medications but be after 1 year ( how wrong i was .) I just took both first fish back and changed for another 2 clownfish from same tank at lfs ( as this thread progresses we shall find out if i made wrong decision by not returning fish and going fallow for 6 weeks ( as got told possible brook,or for 76 days to eradicate most parasites.

Current fts 26/04/22 in blue/white,only just found out could do this ^_^

Torches hate sand being spat on them. I am almost feeling if I want to keep torches, I may need to remove sand bed. Malenurus wrasse is getting a new home because of always spitting sand on coral and eating my cuc.

Edit: tank has been getting fed 5+ times a day. He has no excuse!

Nice aquascape!!
Thanks very much ,took me 3-4 hours over 5-7 days if remember rightly.
And to think when tank matures more and covered with corals, won't see much of the aquascape that took so much time to build and cost ao much in silly little 50 ml superglue as couldn't buy a large glue as seemed to be some mad world shortage on glue ^_^ or manufactures know can make so much more money selling lots of 50ml glue rather than one say 500ml glue ha ha

Aw unless break tank down or treat tank and everything dies as seems I got nearly every pest in tank known to man lol as can see from videos In thread I shared a few posts back earlier today lol

Yeah my wrasse annoys me so much ,every few hours or so he dive bombs the sand and then catches the bugs that now in water Column ,or least looks like this anyway, but fine -ish sand and wrasse that putting in water coloumn and landing on and irritating corals could make me also go to remove my silver belly wrasse, even though he my cheapest and favourite fish and probably helping me eat all them pests in videos on that thread I shared couple posts back, so if removed him, could have even bigger problem than I do already lol.
But like anything we shall see.
But just proves to me dipping corals still let's so many bugs through, well least dip I got does ha ha

Well noticed gsp slightly closed up so inspected it and seen 2 the sea slugs again on it,haven't seen any for 4 weeks or so,so thought pulled them all off, either they super tiny and underneath the gsp frag, inbeteen base and frag/rock plug and didn't notice till got bigger or they just in tank and can eat other soft corals or even detritus/left over clams idk
Anyhow 2 more found so going keep close eye on it again

Sorry your slug problem isn't going away :(
Thanks.
Good thing they easily seen with naked eye and simple to remove with tweezers.
As alot these sea slugs are toxic from all the corals and sponges and what not they eat, don't even think they have any natural predators ,not what could go in a tank anyways.
But yeah rather not have them than have them ha ha

Well extreme heatwave In england for last 4 days and first ever red weather warning ,meaning risk to life as so dang hot, hottest temp ever recorded at 40.3 degrees beating previous hottest in last heatwave in 2019 of 38 degrees, most off countries rail network complete standstill as apparently our tracks not engineered for such high temps so tracks literally buckling all over.

8pm now and still 28 degrees,I've tried shutting all windows/blinds/curtains and opening sump cupboard and removing lid on tank but temp currently at 86 degrees, also been replacing frozen bottles off water in sump today every hour or so rotating them, lobo not looking good, mushroom in a ball, chalice looking little pale, but without a chiller or some fans to try promote more evaporation cant do much unfortunately .

But back to not as hot tommorrow so hopefully all pulls through.

Moby the goby ( ywg) been missing last 2 weeks so not sure if hiding or dead, his pal the pistol shrimp still alive.

And just noticed today a el cheapo none controllable powerhead stopped sticking to tank with suction cup,so had to lean it on magnet scraper and rocks for time being till get another, still main 2 powrrheads working and breaking water surface and skimmer running for that extra gas exchange as hotter water = less oxygen but shrimps, snails, crabs still alive and noticed no deaths this last 4 days so we shall see hey ^_^

But on a brighter note ,we set up a largish pool in garden over weekend ,1 metre deep,4.5 metres wide,my little girl wanting d
Go down in garden at 7.45 am after her mum goes to work but I've been holding out till 10-10.30 am as hard work sitting out and waiting me play with her in such hot heat from am - 5pm as we not used to weather this temperature, but saying that these heatwaves coming more and more often but defo bot used to it and finding it hard play with her and keep her bot bored lol

How are the corals looking? How are the fish?
Fish don't seem to be affected at all, just carrying on as normal ,same for snails ,hermits, cleaner shrimp and pistol shrimp, just recently found like orange stuff on sand, first thought was the conch as it was face down into pistols lair ,but reached in and moved it,and its moved so alive but moved to entrance to one off caves in my rocks and just chilling there so what I seen I'm guessing one off the trouchus dead maybe and other end off tank seen a few nassarious snails together so seems like they eating something but can't see nothing and can't see any empty shells from a recently died snail so not sure, but all nass snails out and about and trouchus snails active on rocks and glass.
Lobo all shriveled up and mesenterial filaments out ,mushroom curled up unto a ball, and chalice seems OK but little pale but turned t5 lights off at like 2 pm instead off usual 8 pm to try not add any more heat from the lights, but lights off mushroom often curls up,so only them 3 corals giving a little concern and all other corals sound.
But hopefully can get temp down to say 80 before go sleep as 20.36 pm now and apparently going be alot cooler tommorrow like 28,so still hot for us for nothing like these last 4 days .
Never known anything like this,3/4 country on red high alert risk to life ,first ever time country issued it and where I am its on border off the red and Amber so we got temperature few degrees less than 20 miles away at nearly 40 and we've had 38 degrees here today,so just fingers crossed temp like 28 tommorrow and tank temp should get back down to a high acceptable level is my hope.
And as we get some cold harsh winters are houses designed to keep the heat in so country in a right mess as not geared up to have such cold winters but such extreme summer like now,but just got to plod on hey ^_^

Hope all is well with yourself and family

Well 10 am and temp 82 degrees in my tank, so just at the above level comfortable at,it's cold and very windy dying outside so sat here wrapped up but with windows open fully to let some cold air in.
But watching news and in just London alone 41 houses burnt to the ground because the hot sun drying the grass out in gardens and setting on fire and spreading to the houses, plus all over country here and there houses burnt to the ground just because hot sun pffft, never heard off this before, in national parks and moorlands yeah it happens but not in towns and citys and houses,so I'm very grateful me and family and friends are all safe and no real harm done to us,but puts stuff in prospective when see many many others lose absolutely everything and only got clothes on their back,so so sad,and hope they get as much help as possible

Well 10.41pm and finally got tank to just a touch over 78 and all still looking good with livestock ,so feel little better now ( had to keep adding and rotating 12 frozen bottles off 2 litre pop bottles every hour then back in freezer as they defrost so dang quick .
But as we all read when coral start going bad ,it could be from 2 weeks prior,so guess got to wait 2 weeks to see how things look.
But end off day I did what I could and end result is what it is ,can't change it so all good.

Well think time to replace my urchins that died whilst on holiday last December as my coraline algae really taking off,on top of dead sos frag and literally strangling some zoas lol.

Bought a red and green monti on same frag plug few months ago ,but pretty sure they stinging each other every night and because iff plqcement, the green one gets more light so growing outward but red one grew about half inch over top off where the green monti base used to be,but monti my favourite coral so hopefully after a year or 2 ,I get them both spiralling upwards in and around each other ^_^

Well gsp been in tank just before my holiday in May and opened up straight away but then with finding the sea slugs been opened then closed for some time then thought found all the slugs then weeks later find few more and so on, think about 3-4 weeks now not found anymore but gsp mainly been closed for nearly a month now apart from occasionally see very very small polyps but they very white so ovniously that not good,so also as my silver belly wrasse dive bombs the sand and comes straight back up several times a day next to the gsp covering it in sand,I'm going glue/epoxy the gsp rock to my plastic back overflow which is nearly completely covered in coraline so should be easier to glue it and side off this gsp rock is flat so will just be hanging there about half way up the tank,so wrasse can't cover it with sand and always lots off pods on it so maybe I get less pods with it being 12 inch above sand, and will get more flow and light and try save it and also if so hopefully get it growing on back wall like plan was but them pesky slugs just naffed everything up .

Can see in video got an unusual sponge growing underneath it with what looks like spikes lol.
But got a layer off something browny/orange on surface off mat that peels off and a few holes have appeared where once was polyps, was only cheap but second gsp I bought and first one died so hopefully can turn this around ^_^
