3D Printed HOB Algae Scrubber

Wanted to design and build a HOB algae scrubber for my IM Nuvo 40 fusion. This iteration will have an acrylic window for the LEDs, and a 2mm slot inside for the mesh sheet to grow the algae. Plan is to just have a small pump with a vinyl tube running into the HOB from the rear section of the AIO. I figured it will hold 1.125 liters or 38 oz of water. Not sure it would have much of an impact on 40 gallons of water, but its just a project for fun.

Just finished printing

Waiting on the silicone to dry to the acrylic. Designed a lit, and a plate that the LEDs will mount on. Will print and update once those are finished.

Ran into some issues with the silicone. Turns out it was expired and never set correctly, so I had to scrape it all off and start over. I was able to get the LEDs wired up. Wasn’t my best work but it’ll work!
