I use Fusion 360 and I slice with Simplify 3D.

I think when I go to print my final version of my Skimmer cleaner I am going to try Atomic Carbon Fiber Extreme Black PETG
When I did commissioned prints I used Atomic almost exclusively (had to get some colors and tpu from other places) and I don't have enough good things to say about their filament and customer service.

I picked up a few rolls of their carbon fiber petg that was dirt cheap because it was "out of diameter tolerance". I ran each roll through a 1.75mm Guage and only had 3 spots that got hung up and I had to trim out. Turned into 6 smaller rolls of filament but printed really well.

Just make sure you use a coated nozzle or hardened steel nozzle, not brass, because it is abrasive and destroys nozzles fairly quickly (though nowhere near as much as glow in the dark or metal fill).

Fusion 360 is free if you are a student or startup.

I started with tinkercad, it's very intuitive. I moved to fusion 360 but my pc is weak and it's a very slow process for me to use until I upgrade the computer.

I only see it has free 30 day trial. 3 years for student, but I'm not a student. I don't see any info for startup, though I am also not a startup. maybe they removed startup option because they noticed everyone is a startup .

I got it as startup 2 years ago. They asked me to refresh my info last year and I still have an operational license for it. Used it yesterday.

If I had to pay for it to keep using it, I would. It's very powerful software, I just wish I knew how to use it better and had a computer that could keep up.

Download and use the 30 day trial. When it runs out you can click a link at the bottom of the notification screen you can then register as a startup/hobbiest license that is good for like 3 years. Do not make more than 100k a year using it and you will be fine ;)

I run a stainless steel nozzle on my primary head. My nozzle is .35 but they recommend 0.40 or greater so may need to swap to another hotend nozzle.. I have a .50 A2 hardened tool steel nozzle so may swap to that first. We will see might attempt with the stainless just for kicks.

ok, found the fineprint buried deep

Startup: If your entitlement has been designated as “Startup, ” You may use the service if You are (a) a company, startup, or home-based business that generates less than $100,000 (or equivalent in other currency) per year from the total sale of goods or services, or (b) an individual using the service for personal non-commercial projects, hobbies, or personal learning.

The term for your Startup use is one (1) year from the date You are granted access. Autodesk reserves the right at any time during the Startup term to revoke access of the Startup entitlement by providing notice to You.

so is startup license features limited or works exactly like full version?

I wish these modeling tools were less expensive. I can’t justify dropping that much money when I can do 90% with SketchUp for free.

Fusion 360 is incredibly capable for CAD and CAM. Free for hobbyists and students.

edit:

Lol, apparently I was a page behind. Already been said xD

What type, brand and color is that? It's stunning!

Its PLA- gold from amazon. Oddly it is not showing up in my amazon history, so when I get home I will take a photo of the roll :).

Printing some random storage at .2mm layers, and this stuff looks injection molded :o

Made a tunze ato pump stand with apex optical sensor mount.

Nice- have you seen my suction cup design too? To make sure it doesn’t fall over.

Does the optical sensor wire not get too bent at at that height?
