My huge 12 inch round toadstool is showing signs of damage. The top of it where the needles are have chunks of it missing. The inside is yellow. A couple of the holes have black specs inside the toadstool. I tried getting some pictures. But the chunks of damaged areas are around quarter sized.
There's around five or six holes like this. I could dip it in coral rx. It's huge so not sure if taking it out and subjecting it to something is good.
Alk is 8.6, salinity is 1.025, temp is between 76 and 78 ph between 8.0 to 8.2. Phosphate was at .4. using phosphate e to lower running it through filter socks with aquarium water to reduce precipitate. I started running carbon in case of coral toxins in the water. I dose vodka to reduce nitrates. I use all for reef, baking soda, and calcium chloride to supplement.
Any thoughts on why a toadstool would develop holes in the top?
