I have been way overdue for an update on my tank. Frankly, the last year has been challenging to say the least. I have gone through what seemed like a dinos outbreak, along with a nasty red slime, cyano, diatom and hair algae issue as well. I basically went through it all! Fortunately, I did not lose any fish, but I did lose a few acros and some others that had branches affected. It was rough just looking at my tank, let alone take pictures of it. I finally won the battle through a combination of good old manual cleaning, Waste Away and a round of fluconazole. About a month back the tank finally turned the corner and everything has started looking healthier. The acros still haven't got all their color back but are heading in the right direction. So here is a picture heavy update!

Updates....how's the tank looking?

Hey there. Unfortunately I don’t have much positive news on the tank. I have been battling either a bacterial infection or a severe cyano outbreak that came out of nowhere. All my parameters have been rock solid so it has me stumped. The good news is that I have finally gotten rid of it. Bad news is that I lost pretty much all my SPS. I just couldn’t keep the red slime off them. I would blow it off every evening but during the day while I was at work it collected on the frags and ultimately suffocated them.

Just yesterday I got some replacement corals via a Battlebox from Adam at Battlecorals. I can’t say enough good things about Adam and the quality stuff he has. Here’s a pic of the frags that are acclimating in the tank. Hoping that they all settle in nicely since they’re gorgeous corals!

Oh man, that’s not cool. I know the feeling just got done dealing with the red devil cyano myself. Hope everything turns around for you.
