This is a 40 gallon aquarium that I built a sump for! I started on a 10 gallon, but I quickly outgrew it. I wanted more stability! So I got the tank upgrade and turned the 10 gallon into a sump.

I purchased the overflow box, the plumbing, the sump baffle kit myself. Miraculously it all worked! The rock was stuck with putty and superglue.

My pet family include a clownfish, royal gramma, carpenter wrasse, and a fire shrimp. My clean up crew include Trochus, Turbos, Cerith, Astrea snails, a conch, and a hermit crab.

I have a few corals, like the torch, pulsing xenia, zoa, digitata, and few others.

I also introduced some macros that I'm hoping they'll grab. Copepods coming soon!

I hope ya enjoy my little ecosystem.

Sure thing! The aquarium has been doing fantastic! I keep 4 fish, Royal Gramma, Clown, Wrasse, and a Diamond Goby. The aquarium produces algae very slowly, so I can go days without having to scrub the glass. But from the beginning I seeded with Copepods, and for about a month or two dosed periodically with microbacter 7. The diamond goby keep my sand so clean! I did accidentally have the light at too high of intensity and I burned a few corals. But I adjusted since then. I custom built the overflow box into the aquarium and the sump. Everything works so well. I did try a small tang for a while but he got too agressive quickly so I traded him away. Would you like to know anything specific?

Very nice work all-around, you should be proud of yourself. 👍🏻
Thank you! Right now I'm trying to cross the SPS territory!
