I assume these are nerite snail eggs since I added some a few weeks ago and have never seen this type of eggs before.
Clear capsules with a bunch of tiny, round eggs inside.
*tough to get a well-focused picture -- on the front glass but pretty tiny

Through orange filter:

Unfiltered under blueish lighting:

I've seen my nassarius snails' and cerith snails' eggs and they look different.
I have some trochus snails also but they've been in the tank for some years and I've never seen any of their eggs -- I think they spawn and don't lay down eggs like the others.

Got this new little tailspot blenny from Dr. Reefs a couple of weeks ago:

*my last one I had for 2+ years was my favorite fish until unexpectedly killed in a powerhead -- bummer
My favorite fish also. Tiny fish with the biggest personality and how about those eyelashes! Some people call me a tailspot blennyfanatic, they are being ridiculous! Beautiful reef!

Nothing new,,, just playin' with clip-on filters on iPhone ('cause I'm too lazy to do more than that):

Also cleaned my pumps, probably don't have them pointed exactly the same, and now stuff's blowing around a bit differently.

Uniseal on my Brute trash can for RODI water just started dripping.
Been fine for 3 years other than the occasional drip when I accidentally get the PVC stuck on a bucket and tweak it awkwardly.

Got the seal twisted and PVC tweaked so not dripping right this second but obviously need to replace it:

uniseal_drip.jpeg

RODI system and storage is in the garage which can get hot in summer so I'm guessing that takes a toll on the seal,,, maybe.

Seems like when I have videos that are perfectly clear originally, once I upload and playback through YouTube, they're always blurry/grainy at the beginning,,, unless I monkey with playback options each time I play/view it.

Oh well...

Random duncan flow video from just now:

Ricordea rock that started as two single frags had gotten way cramped.
One in the middle was crowded by others around it and looks like it decided to let go.

...started in the middle of these on the rock at the bottom:

ricordea_202507_2.JPG

...floated to back of tank and starting to grab on in the sand:
*need to figure out where to put it now

Got a cheapie Danoplus PAR meter as a gift a couple/few months ago.
Have messed with it a few times and results seem pretty consistent, although lower than Apogee MQ-510 results that I've rented in the past.

Rented MQ-510 for $20 from semi-local reefer to do a direct comparison.
Goal was to come up with a multiplication factor that I could apply to the Danoplus readings.

Going with 1.25x since most of the results were in the 1.2x to 1.3x range.
*didn't strap the two meters together but just tried to take measurements at some spot

Below are just a couple of the different settings I logged.
Readings are Apogee/Danoplus(calculated multiplication factor)
*lights are 2x AI Prime 16 HD with diffusers

Current settings that I run (55% of BRS LPS/soft coral recommendation):

PAR at 55% BRS with Diffusers 202507.jpg

70% of BRS LPS/soft coral recommendation:

I guess I need to start trimming this "tree."

Don't really have anywhere to grow out frags and feel bad just throwing away pieces but not sure what else to do.
It's starting to shade and bother other stuff so,,, hmmm.

My sinularia also grows pretty big. I frag it and post on the local reef club forum for folks to come and get a frag for free. Or take it to a lfs for store credit. And you are right, it would be ashamed to throw any of that away. Even if folks who live a distance away could pay the shipping it would be worth the effort not to waste it.

Yeah -- I should ask my LFS. It'd be cool if I could just snip some parts off right into a container and drive it straight over for them to deal with,,, rather than waiting to get everything to attach to frag discs.

Never fragged a leather (or really anything) before.
I wonder if I can get away with cutting off this whole section without causing too much damage:

It really can be that easy. A lot of people rubber band it to a rock to get it to attach to make frags or just place it in a basket with small stones. That being said you can just literally go in and snip it with scissors. Leathers are the easiest to frag. Just make sure to run carbon.

Its all fun & games until he dumps it right into the middle of your zoa colony 😭

I am upset at my urchin since he fragged some of my zoas in my tank and I was like oh he probably grabbed the ones I tried fragging and that were kind of loose but I kinda gave up on fragging them myself since I did not want to mess with the whole colony to try and remove the ones I cut loose, but nooooo, he had to go & frag my other zoa's that I have so many fragged already lol, cant find good help anywhere these days.
