It's been a while since the last update.
So I had a bad outbreak of bryopsis in my frag tank and do a 14 days treatment with fruconazole. What I can tell is the medicine works, and it's reef safe. However I did have some casualties.
During the 14 days of the treatment, my pH drop significantly (~7.8) and sure the nutrient rising plus no water change. The environmental change makes some creatures living in it become more aggressive. After years living peaceful together, those zoas decided to kill their neighbors.
My pink lemonade colony losed the fight.

So, this is the last pics of it. RIP baby. [emoji26]

I took a risk and removed them...by hand.[emoji32]

The blue bonsai also decided it doesn't want to be around the Pikachu any more (or may be the zoas's toxic juice make them irritate) . Luckily I am able to save the Pikachu colony just in time. It now sitting on my frag tank, color lost and polyps retract. [emoji30]

I also about to get the calcium reactor running.
Currently decreasing the doser rate from 135 mil each part to 100 mil each part with the calcium reactor's pH at 6.75~6.85.

Did 20 gallons water change, add GAC after the treatment finish ( all bryopsis gone) yesterday and today everything blooming again!

Some top down pic , so you have some idea how much of a space vs corals that I have to deal right now.[emoji43]

Yes, I removed some. I think I will need to remove more. They keep getting bigger, I can't keep up with the trimming alone.

Do you have hermit crabs in ur tank? They do clear bryosis after I manually scratch the bryosis off from rock. Also, I think dosing zeozym + coral snow plus do help in controlling all algae from outbreak.

How do like the calcium reactor vs dosing? I'm contemplating converting as well. Amazing tank btw

Thanks. I find that the calcium reactor is very hard to tune in. I just have a roller coaster alk swing in the last couple days. My alk went up to 12dkh and then down to 7dkh just by adjusting a couple of drops per second. [emoji28]
I try to keep my big 3 by 50% dose and 50% calcium reactor.

Your tank looks great. I had a calcium reactor on my 50 gal sps tank also had a hard time keeping it dialed in on such a small system. Went back to 2 part with apex Dos. All is back to normal. Sounds like you should go back to 2 part for that tank. As for your Ca Rx build another system to fit it. Lol. Just kidding. Keep up the great work. Corals are stunning.

Why don't you try the ph method of tuning the reactor instead of the drip method. It seems like it would much easier to tune this way especially with a controller. I'll drop a link
