This is my 7gallon nano also running the asta20.it was running for 3 years as mainly hammer, as in frags from my main tank. It was running 3 years fine, then I started losing heads off the hammers and had put it down to the sinularia I have in there releasing toxins, I'm slowly moving it over to a softie tank. I still have couple of hammers that I saved.

For a basic coral light for small tanks I really enjoyed it. Managed to get sps growth on some Montis and an Acro (about 1" from water surface so 4" from light) before my Bunny ate my power lead and Covid shut the tank down. I wish it had a ramp up and down feature, about the only thing that it was missing in my opinion.

As long as you don't run it on a deep tank (over 12") or think that it'll support something like an anemone I think it's fine. It's currently on my work tank (again) which I'm considering re booting with Montis only. No Damsel this time though

Sort of completely unrelated, was browsing and wish listing items for tank builds that I'll never afford and stumbled across this

So Dinos are bioluminescent?

Some species of dinos are bioluminescent when agitated. That’s why some beaches occasionally have a blue glow. Anyhow, how would that orb build even work?

You pour the Dino's in through a hole in the top, I'm assuming this is a water mix of Dinos and SW. Its meant to Glow when Agitated. So I assume pick it up and swirl it like a Big Old Glass of Dino Brandy

So today I decided that enough was enough, I broke down the freshwater nano and transferred the livestock into my little 5G Cube for the weekend.

I need to clean up the tank, re silicone the bracing to the top (my planned lid requires this), come up with some form of stocking plan, aquascape and find the 90 degree mount for my Kessil light

So Lighting options, I have a few to choose from

Kessil A360WE - Love the light, colour and controllability. However will require a new mount for this tank, maybe see if I can make a rail mount for it

Orphek OR2 Reef Blue Plus - I want to see if i can get a hold of one of these lights (Reef Blue Plus) as this should allow me to run the tank with the Freshwater lid.

So it's been 10 days since last water change, decided that I would test. Nitrates at 10ppm, phosphates at 0.03, so 50% change.

Also moved all the Hammers onto the same rock, I still have to swap the tile for a plug so it fits the rock better

Can you guess where it used to be? Lol

Doesn't look to be brown jelly just yet, have shifted to gentle flow and lower light and hope it'll bounce back. Its out of reach of the Elegance's sting as well

So all in all I am fairly happy with this tank, coming up to the Two month mark now and think I have done well in not cramming tonnes of corals in early, as per my previous attempts. Lockdown has definitely helped the wallet on that count.

IMG_20200526_111947_resized_20200526_120150040.jpg

The rocks are being kept clean by a single Blue Legged Hermit and Spiney Astrea, I do want to get some more Snails, definitely Dwarf Cerith, possibly also a Money Cowrie. Something to work on the Glass, and maybe the sandbed but not too much i think that'll likely go at some point. Algae growth on the (poorly) painted backwall, want to get rid of that before I start to add some more SPS Corals, as I am considering using the back glass for Acro's eventually.

No change to the Hammer Coral since the damage, think that it must have been the Hermit, I also treated the frag with H202 to remove some GHA that started to appear, however the skeleton is clean so hopefully this should bounce back.

Still need to swap the tile for a plug on the 3rd Hammer to fit onto Hammer rock.

Montipora (Sorry poor photo) is doing well, I now see Polyp extension even on the sides of the Frag that has been cut, which is definitely encouraging.
