Some new livestock (Lennardi Wrasse, lighting Wrasse, red/orange carpet, frags)

That's a gorgeous red haddoni! Best of luck with it [emoji16]

One question: is your over flow leaking? I saw a drip when you opened the door the 1st time and noticed you had a towel catching it.

Yes I had changed something earlier which caused it to leak a bit...good catch but all is fine now (fingers crossed lol)

That's funny - i noticed the same thing. Glad it's fixed.

So the supply and returns are just 1" or so? have any flow monitors? Wondering what sort of thoughput you're getting through the sump.

Any thoughts [emoji189] on other fish [emoji226] that might be a good addition?? Keep in mind I don't care for fish that are high maintenance and they need to be reef safe.

The Quoyi Parrotfish is a go to!!! I have one and it is the greatest fish purchase I've ever made! Hardy, Gorgeous, and peaceful as can be! Never nips coral and of the 3 I've sold so far they are all true to their reef safe label!

My Quoyi Parrotfish has been a model citizen and a pleasure to have in the tank. Great personality!

I have a synergy overflow box which is nice because it does not take from the interior footprint of the tank. The only drawback is that there is only 3-1” pipes that come from them, but those three 1” lines connect to 2- 1.5” pipes outside the house....I don’t have any flow monitors but my guess is that I have 3-4 times turn over rate which on a large tank is just fine.

Truly impressed with the ambition of this build. Its seems no expense was spared, and no detail overlooked.

Love it! That sea apple is so cool. Never seen anyone actually have one in their tank.

Ok so have to ask and sorry to bring it up. But starting with all dry dead rock are you concerned about getting the dreaded Dino's?

I've been battling on and off for years and it's really seeming to become a problem everywhere. One of the major themes seems to be tanks starting with dead dry rock. And one of the common remedies is to add more biodiversity and life to the tank in the form of microfauna. And things like love rock from a trusted source, Fiji Mud, garf grunge.

Anyway love the system and your fish list! Keep an eye out for Dino's around the 1 year mark or so.

Hey There, that's a good question...I think dry rock is tough. When I started with dry rock I was having some tough algae issues until I started to add some live rock from a trusted source and added a lot of clean up crew members.
