Finally pulled the acrylic 70 corner out of storage and going to try to set it up. I've always loved the look of a corner tank, though it's not the easiest to work with logistically.
Anyway, We'll start with some pics of the overflow. The tank had holes for a 1" and 1/2" bulkhead already existing in the bottom of the overflow.

My plan was to set up a 'Herbie' overflow, so thankfully there was enough room for me to get another hole drilled to accommodate a second 1/2" bulkhead. The 1/2" will be the primary siphon with the 1" serving as the 'trickle' and back-up. The other 1/2" bulkhead will serve as the return line.

I've got an Eheim 1262 which is slated as the return pump and yes...I've done a wet test, and the 1/2" siphon can and does handle the flow. In fact, I have to throttle back the siphon with a gate valve to keep the water level up.
Here's a shot looking straight down the overflow... the 1" pipe is at the top, the 1/2" siphon pipe with a strainer is lower left and 1/2" return line is middle right

I wanted the rockwork to be 'tree like' with ample open space around it for fish to swim. I used dry rock from a prior tank and built the structure using zip-ties and marine epoxy. I'm happy with how it turned out. Naturally, I broke a piece off while wedging it through the opening to get it in place...:squigglemouth:

And in the tank...
