Great build! Following! I'm also in the midst of building a 75G reef and was wondering how you placed the 2 MP10s and 2 MP40s. I currently have 2 MP10s and am just on the fence about some MP40s. What would you recommend?

Great! What are the dimensions of your 75?

I tried to mount the MP10's to the back on either side of the overflow, however, my tank is low iron glass and doesn't allow enough magnetic contact for the Mp10 to stay together. It always falls off after a few minutes of running. I'll be placing an MP40 on either end of the tank, one closer to the front, the other closer to the back as to create a flow that "passes" the other down the length of the tank. I haven't purchased them yet, I'm awaiting some finances to free up after the wedding.

Mine is a 75 standard 48x18x20 if I'm not mistaken. Also made the mistake of buying the mp10s and changing to a rimless 75G which has 1/2" glass. They still work barely. I haven't had one fall off but if I was to graze one I believe it would fall off. Thought about using what's included to mount them permanently in one spot once I figure out the correct spot. When I saw your thread I was intrigued by the 2 MP10s and MP40s. My thoughts were to install the 2 MP10s on the back glass facing to the front and the 2 MP40s on each side. Thoughts?

Yes, 1/2" glass is a guess as to whether the MP10's will stay long term. MP10's on the back wall and MP40's on the ends is the exact way I was planning to mount them. My decision was to sell the MP10's and rely on the MP40's, more than enough flow for a 75. I also didn't want to worry about an MP10's falling off behind the tank once it was in place and filled with water.

Made some significant progress on the water mixing station over the holiday weekend! I decided to make plumbing as simple as possible. Were something to go wrong with the pump or valve which required repair, one or both of the tanks would need to be drained. It is for this reason I'll run a 1/4" water line from the bottom of each tank to the common waste line. This will make draining either tank as simple as opening a valve. The RODI tank also has a mechanical float to shut off water in the case of a switch failure. :)

Ladies and gentlemen, the mixing station is installed and operating as expected!! I've very happy with how it turned out! I didn't expect my Apex to get this involved on such a small tank, but everything is transferable to a larger tank... ;)

Below is programming pertaining only to the mixing station showing all outlets. Here is the programming for each outlet:

Considering I don't need to keep space for the RO container I rearranged the equipment under my stand. It feels much more open with plenty of room for the Neptune Trident when it becomes available. :)

I was also able to put together a DIY skimmate locker to hold an extra gallon of the nasty stuff. Wired a float switch up to a 3.5mm jack and plugged it into my FMM, works perfectly!

;)How are you liking your 36in 6 bulb ATI Sunpower over your tank.? I ask cuz I am playing with the idea of a 36in or a 48in ATI SP over my 75g tank.

Love it! I bought it for my 40 breeder but it lights this tank beautifully. I’ve had led over my tank as well but didn’t like the shadowing around the corals. For me it’s T5’s until a more Cost effective defusing led is available.
