Thank you so much just can't wait to get some coral on there.Site came out nice!
This makes me feel real good as I was excited to have something done for Matt and Amy because they have been really great friends.
Hi Matt, Hope things have been going better for you.Several things have been done since my last post.
A- Caught the Flu
B- Ran the airline from my skimmer to underneath the house to gain more O2.
C- Bought 2 of the new Kamoer X1 blue tooth pumps
D- Received ATI Essentials Pro and started the dose at 18ml per day and have since reduced it to 9ml a day till I get coral.
My PH has went up really well and is stable @ 8.02 -8.05 and KH is 7.5 and stable.

I love these little guys as they are easy to use and cheap. They operate from an app that is simple and very easy on the eye(i have trouble with small fonts).Hi Matt, Hope things have been going better for you.
I meant to ask earlier how you felt about the dosing pumps. I've always used the BRS 1.1 ml doser run off a common timer. I would like something with a little more flexibility, mostly separate time and dosing amount schedules. The ones I have now have been around awhile and are in need of replacing so looking into possibilities. Would like to hear your thoughts.

I would do a review but can't due to family reasons and needing to get rig of these dinos first.
Speaking of dinos I installed a 55w Jebao UV sterilizer hooked to a maxijet 1200 and so far so good. It has been going for about an hour so will check tomorrow and see if there is a difference.
I would try some live rock but too far in to switch right now not to mention I am not a fan of some of the evil critters that it can have.I think the algae you are seeing is too be expected using dry rock. It is a very long way from being mature, when it is dry.
You can tell by how sterile it looks.
Lots of people start with dry rock, and get all sorts of nasty algae until their rock actually matures.
If you want to really fight dinos, imo, ditch the dry rock and get some quality live rock
I have not had the algae confirmed yes as i'm still waiting to head down and use the microscope. One of the guys in the Pest Algae section said he had stuff just like mine and it turned out to be diatoms.OK, no worries and thanks for all you have done. Seems last I read you still needed to confirm on the dino's, guess you did after all? That really stinks, dino's are one issue i've never had to contend with. Sure hope it works out for you.
Well I guess there is still some hope. Best of luck to you. I guess I've just been lucky but I'm still using part of Walt Smith Fiji order I purchased direct about 12 years ago. I've been using and reusing the same rock in 4 different systems now, still have a pretty good stash laying around. I just acid wash it before I re use it and have not had any issues thank goodness.I would try some live rock but too far in to switch right now not to mention I am not a fan of some of the evil critters that it can have.

Either way the proper steps have been taken to start and combat Dinos.
Yea it might be a slow process given what I have to deal with, but we can hope that this is not going to be as nasty do deal with as we thought.Well I guess there is still some hope. Question, did you give any consideration to mounting your lights oriented 90deg to the way you have them now? It is the way I intend to if I'm able to follow through with my plan and am interested in your thoughts on this.
Dinos are dying!!!! I have started seeing a nice drop in the dino population.
This uv is a beast at 55w and has really taken a tole on the pesky dinos.
I will be adding some pods and some phyto from SA so they can eat the rest. Here is pics currently of the tank and you can see the drastic reduction of dinos.

I have replaced the dinos with an ugly diatom bloom so I can order a cleanup crew for that.As someone who had marginal dinos in a very old setup, running UV is really the way to go here. Glad it’s working !
At the cost I’m considering this Jebao unit to be disposable after about a year.
Outstanding my man!!! Really glad this is working out for you. I was pretty bummed out as I'm particularly interested in your system due primarily to the similarities we share and also wanting to see how the lights perform.
Allrighty then, let the stocking begin!

I had thought about 90deg but due to the rock work taking up all the back space, the extra coverage was not needed.Hi Matt, Hope all is well. Gonna throw this question back to the top as I'm still curious about this mounting orientation.
Any new updates would be great as well.
Thanks, Chris
