I picked up a great tank and stand combo from another R2R member and after some modifications to the tank and stand I'm ready to post my build thread!
Its a 93 gallon marineland cube and stand, but I raised the stand to give me a better perspective and also give me a lot more room inside the stand itself. I painted the stand and trim carpentry with a satin finish oil rubbed bronze. Couldn't be happier so far! Much of the equipment will be coming off an existing 200G Marineland DD that I will be breaking down just after the new year

Equipment:

Control:

  • Apex Lite
  • 2 EB-8's
  • PM2
  • WXM
  • VDM
  • Breakout Box
  • Tunze ATO
Flow:
  • Vortech MP40, and MP10
  • Waveline DC-12000
Filtration:
  • ZeroEdge Series 7 Sump (custom red/white/clear to match all of the other components)
  • Vertex Calcium Reactor
  • Vertex 180i Skimmer
  • Tonga Branch and Shelf rock
  • 40 pounds of Live Sand
Lighting:
  • ATI Sunpower 8 bulb
I'll be posting pics as I can take them!

I've moved into a new smaller place. The 200DD with canopy was actually a little too wide for me...made getting things at the back a huge chore!

Here's what Santa's good list looks like :)
I went Sch80 fittings and Red PVC to match the sump and all of the Vertex equipment. I really love how the oil rubbed bronze finish looks...very subtle!

I ended up needing to make a change to the return pump...my Wavelike DC12000 doesn't fit inside the last chamber of the sump due to modifications needed to fit the skimmer, so I went with the Fluval Sea SP2...I might change that out to the SP4 if it has the same dimensions.

I leak tested her last night and no leaks whatsoever! Now....its time to get salty!

Very nice and clean setup. I have a 93 cube too so I know space is limited the space is but you pulled it off. I have a Vertex 150, I wish I had went with the 180I instead. Cant wait to see more.

I have an existing Vertex Alpha200 on my 200G DD tank that I was hoping to be able to re-use on this tank but there just isn't enough room for it in the sump.
The added height in the stand has given me tons more room and I'm so glad I re-built the stand so that its taller. Frankly, my plumbing barely fits even with the lift installed....but it does :)
Thanks for the kind comments folks!

Nice looking setup! I saw a 93g cube over the weekend and was really impressed by it. That might be my next tank (if I don't shoot way past it!)

The 93 is a great size. Not too difficult to move when needed!
For livestock I'll be transferring most fish from my 200g DD (powder blue, scopas tang, long nose hawk, a few banggai and a few percula clowns) but for coral I'm going to transfer my favorite SPS from the same tank (I've got a piece of Red Planet that's salad plate sized) :)

I really wasn't too happy with the way my Apex wiring management and set up came out....so I went shopping :)

I found this great medicine chest on Amazon, and it matches the oil rubbed bronze finish of my stand almost perfectly! Free two day shipping, a little help from my 9 year old who put it together for me, and BOOM!

What's behind those doors?? :)
