What size do you save your images out to post here!?

They vary based upon what I crop from originals. I shoot in 6000x4000 I try to post as large as possible for optimal visual clarity and definition. Not sure what the max is allowed here to be honest. If id says it is too large, I Shink it a bit..

Lightroom? My laptop sits on the coffee table in my living room... I need a special room for editing?

As a side note.. Nate, is Pandora your wife?

hehe

No, Adobe Lightroom is a photo editing and management app. IMO, much easier to use for the novice photographer. It won't drown you in endless options like Photoshop might.

OOOOHHHHH HAhahaha ok I get it now... As you can see plain, I am also a novice to this. Using the software I use, I have a fair selectin of filters and a adjustments I can use to dial in my photos to best resemble what I actually see. In some cases it works well, in others, not so much. I am working on this as I go.

@PandorasChalk , Here is the camera I have..

I am unwilling, at this time, to invest another several hundred dollars in a macro-lens. I have simply been doing my best with what I have and trying to get the pictures to look like they should in the post-edit process.

I think they are great, good work it looks like id see it i feel in person.

Nice pictures! I would recommend trying lightroom at some point. Have you tried canon's editing software? You probably have to go to canon's website to download.

Your pictures are better than mine still but, im happier with them tonight than with the phone.

Again, it's all about the originals.

Clean glass, still camera... Tripod and remote shutter release are keys. Zero flow!

Use the best zoom you have. Play with the settings till you find what works.

The purple plate and green elkhorn pics I posted, still do not show the polyps I see in the original, or even the edited shots I posted. I presume that the site limitations are part of that.

Do your best with what you have. Try to make what you post as closely resemble what you SEE, and then you are on the right track!

No, I have not used anything other than what I described earlier. I am of course open to new ideas. I am still learning to use what I have. As I get better, and see where differences in editing software begin to become apparent, I will be open to changing what I use.
