Hi again!

In the event of a power outage (like now), how long can my 60 gallon go before I should aerate for oxygen?

How long will my tank ugly phase go for? I'm at 6 weeks and I have a bloom of diatoms (again) and green algae. The green algae us on my dry rock and will cover my glass if I don't watch.

Nitrates/nitrites/ammonia all at 0.....though I call shenanigans on 0 nitrates. My nitrates have always been about 10 or 15.

Phosphates are between 0 and .25.

Mg levels are over 1800 to combat my bryopsis.

Lights (hydra leds) are on for 8 hours.

Thanks!

I've got 3 clowns and some cuc. I don't have an airstone and the nearest LFS is an hour away...closing in 20 minutes. Lol.

In a pinch I would think you could vigorously stir the surface of the water to manually aerate and circulate the water through the live rock.

One night during an outage, I slept in front of my tank. All I had was a air hose, kept that in my mouth and woke up hourly to blow into the tank a few times. My girlfriend slept on the couch in the livid room with me ha.

Ha! Sounds like something I'd do.

A couple of battery powered air pumps will get you through most po's. As you add more livestock, you may want to look into an UPS or generator. If you go with VorTech pumps, the battery backup is great. Saved my tank a couple of times this year.
