i add cheato in refugium it is not growing . it is cover all brown alage on top on it i use phillps 36 watt pl l light on it . i have small resfugium chember

my refugium light period is on at evenig 7.00 pm and off is next morning 10 a m so 15 hrs on and 9 hrs off. will i chang this ?

Dis Agee Chato likes dirty ligh. It's a green plant. All bad algae should be in the fuge too. The Phillips is 6500 kelvin it's is close to full spectrum on my color meter and spectrometer. Goes yellow with age.
It will grow corraline too.
10k reef light is not true full spectrum. Not even. Spectrum spread. It's reef spectrum. Blue spike.
Whatt does not indicate intensity. Especially not knowing distance from object.

I use 5600k and 3200 k.

Brown algae on top. Bad flow. You are right
Power head or fix refugium flow.
Chato needs flow.

Also. @Girish23 are you running GFO or chem filters phosban? How old is the tank.
Is the light too close to the Chato.

@saltyfilmfolks agree whit you and sure you have more competence in spectrum light
But what he have in his refugiums is a fight for predominance
My experience in algae coulture
Is that since algae superior take place and not be suffucated by other algae better high k gradation

Ya it is going top of the cheato and imp think is cheato is strap with live rock using ruber band

What should i do for best result give me a better and effective idea .on this

Clean well and remove algae and cyano add power head for low movement 2weeks blakout then add chaeto and light 5hours 25watts since chaeto start to grow then take to 7-8 hours

i add 400 l/h power head in refuguim yesterday it ok for refugium or lower han 400l/h.

what hapend if i add new cheato withaout clean present refugium ? i ask you beacause ther is my small aphipods there if i clean that they also going to remove from it.
