Finally got my par tested, and the results were a little less than what I'd hoped. The spot where I was thinking about putting a crocea or mama clam is only about 140 PAR- I could theoretically VERY slowly raise it, but I tried once before and ended up bleaching a torch so I'm very wary to do so. Would I be able to make 140 par work? Obviously my biggest priority is to be responsible with any clam I buy, so if it's not possible then I won't and I'll just get a Derasa or Squamosa for my sandbed, but there didn't seem to be much of a consensus from my research online. Anyone know what a minimum acceptable level would be? Thanks!

Figured as much! Thought I'd ask to be sure.

Does anyone have any experience with increasing the light intensity without damaging current corals?

I’d even say 350 is bare minimum.

Really you shouldn’t be trying to keep low light corals with a high light clam. Get a focused LED spotlight and put that on the clam so you can avoid photo-inhibiting the other coral So that the problem is solves without harm to the other inhabitants.
