I’m going to be getting a new anemone from my LFS.
I was wondering how long do you need to QT it to be safe? One from other diseases anemones can get and more importantly for fish diseases? I am considering treating with cipro depending on what it looks like.

You can sure QT it, but to do a dip or treatment, may kill it.
If it's not healthy with a closed mouth and sticky foot at your LFS, then take a pass.

I would QT it just to be sure it doesn't needed treated with cipro. As long as you are only adding the anemone, and not a piece of rock etc. that it was attached to at the LFS, the chances of it carrying fish parasites are pretty low, since there are no hard surfaces for them to encyst on.

IF hypothetically, there was a free swimmer in a droplet of water on the surface of the nem... it would die off pretty quickly in a fishless QT. A quick saltwater "rinse" before adding it would help mitigate that risk. Best practice is to QT all corals/inverts for 76 days though, generally.
