I have 3 fully grown purple tangs in my 200 gallon aquarium. There are a handful of smaller fish like a couple of clowns an orchard dottyback and a blue damsel.
I would like to add some more tangs, and saw some in the local fish shop.
They had some Regal tangs, however the Regal tangs were very small, no more than quarter of the size of my purples.
The shop advised not to try, so I didnt.
Has anyone had any success adding small tangs to a tank with existing larger tangs, and if so how did you introduce them?

I was thinking of making a couple of plastic boxes and stick one of the Regals in each box with lots of 5 mm or even 10mm holes drilled in them. Might have to make one. Most of the boxes I see online are just too small to house even a small tang. That way they can see each other. Maybe leave them there at least a couple of weeks. Is that a good idea, or would I be better off just sticking to the purples? Just seems a bit crazy that once I have some tangs I cant add any more. Usually when I see one they are small.
I suppose the only other option would be to set up a seperate tank and leave them in there until they grow to the size of the purples, but that could take over a year.

Thanks for any advice.
