I have a freshwater current satellite led light on my tank. It's 6500k which is too low for coral of course. what if i were to add a 12k light strip and just use the original for just the blues? and reds too, I can adjust color as I want with it. It is meant to grow freshwater plants after all. would that work?

Yes.
Not having enough blue in 56k is kinda untrue.

I'd probably use both. Slowly ramp up to full power.

Do take a look with both on at full power and see how it looks to youre eye.
