So. After watching this crap take over I'm still slightly torn... was told it's a strain of soft corraline. Beginning to think its cyano. But still stumped. I have a covering of a maroonish color. It looks soft in some spots not in others. Theres about 7 different shades/tints. When it started spreading rapidly I noticed a touch of gha. Now what's getting me... under actnic lighting the bulk of it fluoresce an orangy color. Idk what it is or to do. It doesnt readily wipe off but I've noticed astrea snails mowing on it. Help?

Sounds like cyanobacteria.

Cyano. To verify, take a turkey baster and give it a few soft blasts. If it dissipates/separates - likely cyano. If there’s a coating left on rock/sandbed , then both covered with cyano

I've blasted with my target feeder. Nothing really comes off except grit from where my powerhead keeps falling

You might try increasing your flow for the cyano.

If you did nothing, eventually the cyano would go away. Asterina starfish eat coralline. Just be sure to thin the herd, or they can overpopulate.

I did a peroxide test to no avail 4 hrs after. Let sit overnight. Still no change. Dropped the rock I tested back into my tank 2 days later(tonight) I notice that the reds gone on that rock! Idk what to think...
