AEFW fenbendazole flakes treatment

Yes I get it, it's tough to just watch your frags die and not dip them to test the flakes.
Redacted flake is 100 percent helping. I stopped and issues came back. I more flake Monday and started again. So 3 day break and they loose their ability to fight the AEFW.

I have a lot of spaghetti worms ...so looking for those to go with treatment
Any update on this flake nuking the spaghetti worms? It is a constant battle I have with these things in my tank. I want them gone!!

I fed my tank with a small pinch of the fenbendazole flakes around noon today. First time feeding these flakes—the fish ate them up. I checked the tank 11 hours later with the lights out and saw what looks like two flatworm bodies floating around the water column. I assume if this was during the day those flatworms would be picked off the fish. I was not sure I had flatworms since I dip everything but this seems to confirm their presence. So far no issues with any of the fish, snails, shrimp, or crabs.

Been using these flakes for one month now. Poiyp extension has finally started to come back on my SPS. I do not know if it is because of the flakes or not since I removed my flame angelfish at the same time. No ill affects to the tank other than my small GSP rock closed up and never came back even after I removed the colony to another tank.

Spaghetti worms still living the life in the sand bed—-no big deal since I view them as part of the CUC and are not at plague proportions since I feed the tank very judiciously.

The fish like the flakes which I feed along with the once daily feeding of frozen food.

Just clicked the link for the food, and it’s being discontinued. They can’t source the meds anymore.

Wow that sucks! Hopefully someone will be able to get an alternative back on the market. Seems like a great way to treat fish in quarantine too.

You can source fenbendazol at any farm store. I would heavily dilute it to get the same effect as the flakes

Amazon has a solid brand available as well. I just got flatworms.

I hear this flake stuff works well.

Luckily I have been using flatworm booster combo by KZ. I think this has helped.

Luckily my tank is more of a fragrant tank, with everything on racks so it will be easy to dip, and repeat.

Hey guys I went stagnant for a while and I apologize. So I did a pinch of the flakes/120g; everyday for 2 weeks(chunky pinches). After about two weeks I noticed I lost all my fireworks clove polyps. My zoas were melting and some of my mushrooms were not happy. I immediately stopped the flake treatment and did water changes which did not seem to help.

I decided to just let things stabilize, and after about a month I noticed I did not have any aefw or poly class in the tank at all.
It’s been a 5 months now flat work free and I really do believe it was the Fenbendazole. I highly recommend it, but if I were to do it again I’d follow the same regiment.

I've dosed fenbendazole a few times in 2 different tanks - to try and eliminate Blue Clove Polyps.... i used the dog dewormer sold on amazon. From my experience, hermits and urchins were fine, snails, not so much. All coral was fine although my corralline algae seemed to get knocked back for a bit. Unfortunately, this solution isn't 100% ... it knocks out 98% of the BCP but then they somehow bounce back a few months later, even with a double tap method (dosing 4 weeks apart).

For more info on this - check out the (original) blog post by Max Plank https://maxdraco.wordpress.com/2013...ue-cloves-polyps-xenia-aiptasia-hydriods-etc/

Here's what I used:

I would not as I think most of my snails and hermits started to die off. Hard to tell the reason though. But be the first!

Don’t think I’m willing to risk my large Derasa. I’m not even sure I have them, just have some STN events at the moment and I want to cover all my bases.

I would make sure you actually have something you want to eliminate rather that treating just in case. There are too many potential collateral targets that it could do more harm than good imo
