Hi!

I was hoping somebody could help me identify what these are. They don't match most of the pictures of aiptasia that I can find and I don't see many pictures of sponges looking like this so I am leaning towards aiptasia. They appeared very quickly and seem to have spread onto the surrounding rock as well.

Thanks

looks different from aptasia, different from any sponge I have seen. I am sure someone who knows will chime in. I also want to welcome you to Reef2Reef

Good morning. That is definitely not aiptasia, but appears (to me, at-least) to be white spaghetti sponge.

Happy reefing

This is clatharina sponge and one that will continue to grow and can become invasive covering coral. Nest is to remove with the edge of an old credit card or similar device
