Companies that offer Alkalinty testing are using droplet tests, the same as you use at home.
With Alkalinty results can change throughout the day let alone in the time it takes for the sample to reach the lab and be analysed.
We do not see any benefit for the customer carrying out the same test they can at home and with the amount of samples we run every day it would soon become increasingly time consuming.
what about nitrate testing? why don't Triton test for that? was that part of the HPLC test? what else was in that test? why did Triton stop doing them?
We stopped testing for Nitrate as the test (Which was done with the HPLC machine) was too time consuming and cost too much to be value to the customer. It was ok a few years ago when there were not that many samples being run but it soon became apparent that the current method would not work with the increased volume.
We are working on a replacement and will hopefully be able to announce something soon.
