I’m looking for experienced advice on the proper lighting spectrum and duration for the Stichodactyla family of anemones.
Most specifically the Giganteas and Haddonis.
I have both Radion XR30 Gen4 and Prime 16HD lighting options and would love to know what spectrum (light settings) and time duration others are having long term success with.

Appreciate the advice in advance 👍🏼

I'm not an expert on Anemone care, but I'm pretty sure a Gigantea will need larger than a 47 gallon tank 🙂

I believe @OrionN is very good with anemone questions, if he has a minute to take a look.

Good luck!

You are correct as it will eventually require more real estate but at it’s current size, it will be good for some time as I do not feed my anemones directly.

5-6” gigantea is currently in a 10 gal QT and will be moved to a 47 gallon lagoon at 16” high

6-8” Haddoni is in a 25 gallon lagoon at 12” high
I would swap them and put the gig in the shallow and haddoni in the deeper one. Reason being, gigs like higher light that haddoni do. Haddoni's do quite well in 200-300 PAR with a whiter spectrum. How many lights will you be using per tank? It won't matter much if you are using two on the 47 gallon.
Also keep in mind, Haddoni prefer a sandbed. Actually at the edge of a rock on the sandbed. While gigs prefer to attach to rock, or a rocky substrate where they can anchor their foot.

+1 agree, gigs prefer higher lighting than Haddoni's do. My red Haddoni prefers lighting around 200-250 Par. My gig I have in qt really expands when my lighting gets around 400 par.

Thanks all but I am still looking for answers to my question regarding light color spectrum (color settings) and time duration, not par value.

Haddoni is under a Prime 16HD using a custom setting (photo attached for reference) for 12 hrs and I have my Chicago Sunburst nems under a Radion XR30 using the AB+ color setting for 8 hrs.

Looking for feedback from others as to what they use for their Haddoni and Gigantea carpets please, thank you 😊
