Interessing observation. I noticed that when the coral is stressed is when it starts developing reds.
I acquired a green frag some time ago. My frag grew to multi branched over 6 month and still green. I had some issues with stability especially low ph and nitrate and phosphate being elevated. That's when I noticed the polipes of the acro retracted and didnt.look good.
I ramped up water changes and added kalkwasser and the tank went back to normal. Guess what? I started seeing red streaks on the Rainbow splice.

Don't know if its random or the change in parameters made the color appear.

I cut that part where it spliced and will let that grow:

Better than the 2 green boogers that I started with 😀 👍

I've had this piece for over a year now. It just wants to encrust and now starting to grow up. This was taken in August.

This is what it looks like now!

You sure that's splice? Looks like a regular pink or sunset type milli

Yeah definitely not a milli. I bought it as a splice. Here's a picture of a frag that I broke off of it.

RR Splice is a milli and I'd say your piece is a milli also, just not RR Splice. I'd question whoever sold you that as a splice.

How much PAR are most of your Splices getting?

While i wait hoping for some purple/red to come in i thought i would share the journey and and hope that others might share their experience.

I bought i nice all green frag of RRC rainbow splice for a good price on 9/9/21. I'm getting good growth, for me, and obviously impatiently waiting for the red/purple to make an appearance. I had actually bought i nice frag with both colors earlier and killed it, sadly, and embarrassingly. Wanted to try again but wasn't willing to pay for a nice two color frag at the time.

Frag the day it arrived.

Have the reds come out yet? I recently acquired a green piece as well

you can’t join the All Green club until you post a picture 😂

I have had my splice for two months now and it hasn’t changed much if at all. No complaints from me since the frag is a bright neon green. One of the brightest corks in my tank!

I don’t have the piece in my hands yet
