Chiton. Good guy.I was able to get a pic of what I thought looked like a pill bug!
100% chitonChiton. Good guy.
As they multiply, they are busy in search of foodThanks .
Yeah just found the thread I started few months ago where you and couple others recommended interceptor and that Dr g's stuff
I get more on the green slimer at night but they got no fear and alot them out through the day nibbling on the polyps lol as my wrasse and cbb cruising around looming for snacks which they do pay attention to occasionally but not as much as I would like tbh.
Maybe I feed them to well
Probably not. Chitons have many shell patterns, example below.Chitons can see you
Chitons have thousands of tiny lenses all over their shells that may work together to form a compound eye.eartharchives.org
In here says only have visible eyes as larvae and after larvae stage they have light sensitive cells in each of their 8 armour plates .
Not saying you wrong as I already dropped out but them 2 eye looking dots at front aren't eyes you think @Erin1971Texas ?
Yeah was thinking same as the part of body at bottom looks like mouth area and looks like 2 eyes at front but see possibly couple sets of false eyes slightly lighter colour going back but dont see the tell tale signs that every isopod is like the multiply jaws and such but it does look raised off his arm like it would have legs but picture really good to get that zoomed in but can't see important parts unfortunately. Not 100% sold on chiton — I see what look like two little black eye spots. Kinda looks like it has a skirt like a chiton, but the pic is blurry and I still think it could be some sort of isopod like the attached.
Could be, but only if it has visible legs. The Sphaeromatidae is very closely related to chitons. And I don't think what look like eyes are actually eyes. Not 100% sold on chiton — I see what look like two little black eye spots. That is a hair worm (cirratulid polychaete), commonlyLast one, for tonight! I have been trying to pull these red stringy parts from the frag in the center, but they retract and seem to be multiplying. The frag was dipped in revive but just saw this new critter off of the center mass. any thought appreciated.
thank you everyone, many of my fears have been relieved! I will try to get a better pic of the bug.Could be, but only if it has visible legs. The Sphaeromatidae is very closely related to chitons. And I don't think what look like eyes are actually eyes.
Isn't finding stuff fun???thank you everyone, many of my fears have been relieved! I will try to get a better pic of the bug.
