Again, not always. Live coral can also have algae on them, LPS is harder to tell alive from dead with than it is SPS. for example, this is my Duncan during the feeding response. Life will always grow on LPS coral whether it is dead or alive.No, you can tell if they are still living by how they look. Dead corals also sometimes have algae growing on them. Alive corals will still have flesh on them.
