Just recently I've noticed that Amazon links are unclickable - even if I post them myself. Here's an example:

Amazon product

What I see is just a square with the Amazon logo, not a link. I'll edit in a screenshot in a sec. I'm using Safari on a Mac if that makes a difference.

Any ideas what I need to do to make this work?

Thanks!

Can't even get the link by quoting... Here's what I see if I try to quote the message to retrieve the link:

Code:

Working in Safari on my ipad. Have you tried opening a private tab and viewing the forum in that to see if the link works?

I did try private in Safari on Mac and iPhone, will try on iPad.

I think it's to do with whatever bit of the site code is translating that [MEDIA=amazon]B00R7Q7PT4[/MEDIA] tag into an Amazon link.

how are you adding the link?

I just copy and paste straight into the reply box.

Edit just noticed that you said you can’t view other people’s either. Very strange. I can’t view embedded videos, can you?

I haven't seen an embedded video for a while. A few weeks back I could, so maybe the problem is related?

And yes same way, copy and paste the link. Something on the site is converting Amazon (and maybe video) links to some proprietary media tag format instead of the URL and it's broken on some Macs.

Here's a video, it's a youtube link about Zoas. I'll show the link I paste in wrapped in CODE tags:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdRevbeVXFw

And here's the link just pasted into the reply box as anyone would do:

EDIT and that did work. It converted it to [MEDIA=youtube]jdRevbeVXFw[/MEDIA] but Safari picked it up fine.

So the update here is that 1Blocker, a Mac adblocker, has a rule to block links from assoc-amazon.com; disabling that one rule restores functionality.

Anyone who's having similar issues to me on other browsers can use that to investigate how to fix it.
